A grand total of fifty-six miles last month.   That was the busiest month I've had in a long time.

You're giving me a run for my money ... I have a 2020 MKZ Reserve that was purchase Aug 2020.  The odometer just rolled into the 4 digits.  (Of course, I've previously noted that the car was essentially "on ice" for the first 2-1/2 years of ownership ...)

Ok, my MKZ is in gleeful shock.  I don't think it's seen a warm body in the driver's seat on 3 consecutive days ... ever.  I start her up and I can hear a cry of, "Yeah!  Lemme at that road!!  I'm gonna tear it up!"  :yahoo:

We'll see how she deals with the steady daily RT into Boston for 2 weeks ...

I drive less than 5K per year. My car insurance renewal will be $120 less per year.

It's probably not necessary for me to vent about our renewal, but just got our 6-mo renewal billing from Geico.  Premium has gone from $1100 a year ago to $2200 this billing (two consecutive hefty hikes).

$4400 annual premium is a little hard to swallow, even with some hefty coverage limits.  Adverse overall company claims experience is cited, but when pressed, they also cited a claim from Bev from a rental car mishap when she sideswiped a construction barrel that was misplaced and jutting out into the road.  ($2k claim).  I should have had her have it billed directly to a cc, but Bev just provided the coverage info.

I'll be pulling quotes.

$4400 per year isn't bad for his and her Bentleys. 😁

I already tried that.  The reasoning was that our Governor had approved a rate increase for Florida.  I was paying $1188.00 yearly and now it is $1680.00 yearly.   One car only with no accidents nor tickets in more than 25 years. My spouse has never had an accident in 34+ years and the last time I had one was in the early 90's for which I was not at fault and the other driver was ticketed and his insurance paid out all my medical bills and car repair.  If this continues I may have to buy an electric bike that the state doesn't make me insure.

Why bother taking insurance as we never use it, when needed to use they jack the rates the next time.

I should get into insurance business... reject anything and everything, rate hikes and shut down and run off when the claims go high. What else am I missing in this industry?

Ahh, the "My insurance rates jacked" thread.

In Michigan and in October received a notice that my auto insurance was jacking up by 24.88% and I said "!!!!!!"

I called in to complain. As we all know that was an exercise in futility and I had nothing better to do with those 20 minutes.

I've went from NJ to Chicago (area) and back, then to NYC to go straight to Maryland..I'm in Maryland area now, going 70 West across MD and PA (then across OH and IN to IL, hopefully ahead of storm) a destination in Georgia is next week and let's just say I'm a "hired driver" of sorts. I am thankful to have the kind of job I can take on the road. Government job might still actually hire me, too.. EAPP (NBIS) is having login issues. So I'm thankful to have a good to great-running car, and supportive friends. Might even get a government assignment. No security clearance granted yet but after a long pause, they are interested again.

I'm gonna guess that the uninsured bike that you contemplated in your last post can keep pace with that mph (... might have a problem matching your top speed though ... maybe not?)
