Goku4 Posted December 15, 2023 Author Posted December 15, 2023 My new family is making chicken and I have snacks for the road. Affirm has reminded me that my $153.67 payment is a few days overdue. How long before that dings my report? Quote
Goku4 Posted December 16, 2023 Author Posted December 16, 2023 It would be my hopes that if I pay my amount due before January 12th that my report will not get dinged. It will be my hopes that this week before the holiday is lucretive. Presents are coming in I bought the component stereo I'm going to set it up we should have a wonderful time. And I hope everyone else does the same too and has a wonderful time. Quote

Joseph: I have already posted the standards for late payments and how they might reflect on your credit file(s), for which you thanked me. It's on the first page of this thread. So, it is because I very much like y'all that I will share, because if I didn't care I'd just go off and do it anyway... I am again declining a "Line Of Credit" offer from a predatory lender, this time, NetCredit. I was "approved" for $850. My read of the very, very long and complicated repayment schedule strikes me as essentially a payday loan so.. I will do what I need to do to put it out of my head. Things are tight this holiday and I explored how to get extra money. Sharing so you all could know, if nothing else.. I did NOT accept the NetCredit offer, it could totally backfire. Quote
Goku4 Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 Capital One CLI to 400 from 300. Quote
Goku4 Posted January 4, 2024 Author Posted January 4, 2024 Well, I only have one payment left. And that's awesome. I think I avoided a 30-day ding mark, since I never made it to 30 days late. (December 13th vs January 3rd) . One more payment and that one is behind me. I have other things to pay now. Quote
Goku4 Posted January 4, 2024 Author Posted January 4, 2024 Here is my actual FICO score, from the Experian app. This is the highest it has ever been in my life.. this is not a FAKO score. I'm going to try to not use Credit Karma at all in 2024. Except maybe for when it is tax refund time. I have a card account with them. Other than that. 2024 is here!! Doing my darndest to keep that score there, and higher. My score was in the mid to high 4s at times. Quote

Goku4 Posted January 13, 2024 Author Posted January 13, 2024 (edited) I've also got 100% on-time payments with Capital One for a year. Now to just get those balances down (again.) Some things just going to have to wait. Edited January 13, 2024 by Goku4 Not making these things up! Quote
Goku4 Posted January 23, 2024 Author Posted January 23, 2024 One of you all is on Reddit. There is a credit forum there too. (Not that I trust it, but. Yeah it's someone from here.) Nothing new, just gardening for now. Chasing the money. It will come. Quote

Goku4 Posted February 5, 2024 Author Posted February 5, 2024 Question. Around Christmas time, I took my FICO (actual FICO, from Experian app.. FICO 😎 score of 600-650 - tied for my all-time high, 660 to 670-ish - and I went on an app spree. I was able to add to my portfolio, not messing with the signature this time: - a $300 card - a $700 card (these two are the focus of this question) - a $1000 Meijer card (I am excited about that one.) My question is, basically.. should I never open or activate the $300 card OR never open and activate both the $300 card and the $700 card? or, should i "activate" them and buy a pack of cigarettes a month and pay it off...
