Guy pulled out in front of me. Scared the sh*t out of me.

This was my car accident a few weeks ago. Someone waved the guy across their lane, but he didn't look before crossing my lane. He was a nice guy, he admitted fault to the police, he even admitted he didn't look before crossing my lane. We just settled with his insurance.  My husband doesn't want to get the car fixed, he wants to take the $ and get a new car since our car is older and over 100k miles.

I made the same mistake as the truck driver when i was 19yrs, i accepted someone's wave and was hit by another car.  I haven't accepted a wave since.  lol

I hear you.  You have to make a snap decision on whether to go or not (and risk having the guy sit there longer if you decide not to go).  And then, if you decide to go, you feel prompted to do so as quickly as possible because the guy's waiting for you.  It's very easy to shortcut the usual lane checks.

I hate driving in congested traffic and the rushed decisions sometimes called for; it seemed around Atlanta that was the only type of "traffic" most times.  I'm loving the month we've spent thus far on the south shore of Boston.  Traffic is thick in isolated areas, but for the most part it's unbelievably light.

I've been taking Bev the 6 mi to the Ferry and back each day she goes into Boston (we get extra time together and it's a lot easier on her legs when I can drop her at the terminal rather than her having to park in a lot).  I haven't seen an auto commute so easy and relaxed since 40 years ago!!  I'm there and back within about 25 min.  (mind you, we're leaving the house between 6a and 6:30a)
