So Fox Business quotes directly from the company CEO during comments on an earnings call, but somehow it isn't a legitimate story. SMDH. "In Indiana, part-time workers at McDonald’s earn $20 to $25 per hour, which is in competition with what temporary workers make at our plant," CEO Tomomi Nakamura said during the automaker's latest earning's call on Wednesday, Automotive News reported. "If we were to build a new plant, it would be very difficult to hire new people for that. Labor costs are rising now. It is quite challenging for us to secure workers for our Indiana plant, including those of suppliers." TheVig

hegemony
if only mcdonalds would pay people a below market wage then another multinational corporation can pay its workers a low enough wages to justify an investment in new machine tools. yup, that's the solution... heavens forbid firms respond to market forces... Bad Doctor Frost
Market forces aren't pushing anyone towards electric, at least not organically. Remove the subsidies and mandates and see where the market goes.

Screw the news agency source ... I gotta call BS on this spurious stat. Anyone else believe that they're paying a 19-yr old fry cook in IN $20/hr.? Calif, maybe. hegemony
Krish
I do not believe they are paying 22$ for a McDonalds worker. It feels like Subaru is using this excuse to not do any manufacturing here but keep it in third world so they can make a lot of money for the investors. this whole stock market is a88 backwards, they want economy flourishing with low wages, and with low wages, people cant afford to buy much and then economy tanks.. just *Admin prohibits insults that reference an individual's intelligence.* .... hegemony

Subaru is actually moving more production here. The Impreza and Forester were made in Japan but they're going to be made at their SIA factory in Indiana. Unfortunately the quality drop will come with it. Krish and hdporter 1

Meanwhile, nobody seems to have an issue with the 20% payraise being proposed to Apple FoxConn workers in China taking their hourly to a whopping $4.20. Oh, and then there is that $69 bonus to return to work. A frycook or burger flipper in the United States does not deserve nor are they worthy of more than minimum wage. It was NEVER designed to be a career position to support a family with. ANd that is about all that can be said without taking this into the political realm that you seem to insist on going...rules be damned.
