I think this stuff is just a gimmick.  The banks probably already know about what the direct deposit amount will be before they credit you.  After a couple pay periods where your pay is showing up two days earlier, the benefit vanishes.  Your new every two week pay day just shifted to a day that's two days earlier.  😕

A lot of banks have been doing this for a long, long time already.

I used to work with someone who bragged about how his CU gave him his direct deposit two days early. He still struggled to pay his bills. Two days early, and still a dollar short.

 

So yeah, I agree. It's a gimmick.
