What is the perfect utilization % on the one account "reporting a balance" for Maximum AZEO?

The consensus seems to be about two dollars...some lenders zero out balances below that amount.  And on most accounts, that is going to put you under 1% on the card.

Wow, that low. I have it at 3%. I still got a couple of day to submit another payment. I am going to keep the balance at $2.00

As long as you have no other balances, the score difference between sub-1% and 3% on one card will basically be non-existent.

Not sure what you mean.

My EQ is at 830.  If I use the $2 Trick, it pops me up to around 840.  When I let balances amounting to under 1% report, it takes me down to about 825.

Now, for me if I go strictly by $2 it does absolutely nothing for me.  With available credit at $2m, my $2 needs to be around $1.5k.  So for me it would be the $1.5k Trick.  When I let 1/2% report, it takes me to 825.

I'm going to intercede with a stab that the "non-existent difference" @centex alludes to is a practical difference in credit worthiness.  In your example, 825/830/840 scores are indistinguishable from one another as positive credit approval factors.

"850" can occasionally be a stand-out score.  A few years ago I applied for a casino credit line at a time when my FICO peaked at 850 and the credit manager who assisted me when I arrived on property treated me with the deference one would afford someone who walked on water ;).  (I suspect they see a LOT of subpar 500+ apps.)

That's a bit odd that they pulled your consumer credit for a marker. Usually they just check Central Credit unless you have absolutely no history anywhere.

Also a tad bit of useless but potentially interesting information: if you didn't know, you can request your Central report just like any other CRA and they will send it to you. Not really useful unless you are having problems getting markers due to incorrect information, but it was interesting to me to see it and may be for other CWs and CPs, so I thought I'd mention it.

Practices vary.  Very seldom have seen a hard pulled, but Bev and I have "softs" on our credit reports for new lines and updates.  But I agree, it's odd because for a 21 or 30 day float, it should be sufficient to see a half dozen or so lines in place, for equivalent amounts, with occasional use and no adverse reporting (bounced checks).

The anecdote above was at Atlantis in Reno, who proved to be absolutely idiosyncratic to an extent that no other casino comes remotely close (and I've encountered some bizarre casino management behavior over the years).  I consider that near tragic because I love just about everything about that property.

I enjoyed reasonably good luck on my first two visits there (this is something like 15 yeqrs ago), about 3 mo apart, scoring wins of $5000 and $3000.  No way that would should have registered anyone's notice.  however, future mailed offers (free bet credits and restaurant comps) were discontinued; I was dumbfounded.

When I related this to a knowledgeable friend, he said, "yeah, that's par for the course:  you had the temerity to win!".  Then he related the fact that there's a story that an Atlantis keno player was "no mailed" because he had a lucky streak.

For the uninitiated, the casino has a 6%-10% advantage on keno machine play (maybe as light as 4% at Atlantis, who does have more favorable machine odds) -- that translates to an expected player loss of $4k or even 6k+ for every $100k in wagers.  A player certainly can enjoy a "lucky streak", but with a casino edge that strong, it simply can't be maintained and once things turn, the casino will handsomely recover with player losses.  YOU DON'T DISCOURAGE KENO PLAY, for any reason!

So, I had a fantastic Tahoe host who recently moved to Reno Atlantis.  In culling through her Rolodex, she gave me a shout out to invite me into Atlantis.  I sadly told her I'd love to come in, but that I'd been denied offers to the property ever since my first visits.  Further, a couple of years ago I visited, without incentives, to enjoy the property and give respectable play, ending with a modest loss.   I booked a subsequent visit with a host, who was delightfully receptive and confirmed a reservation, only to have the host call back to say my free room had been rescinded and that the host staff was restricted from assisting me in the future ... OMG!

My "Tahoe" host was dumbfounded, and I suspect she had her doubts I had my facts straight.   (As I relate them now, I'd assume the narrator was a nutcase who likely invited such handling!)  She said given her history with me should, she be able to smooth over any problem.  She sheepishly called back to say, "sorry", but that her management wouldn't budge.

Sorry for excessively venting some frustration ... but in an extremely competitive market, I can't fathom their strategy.  (I suspect an "8-ball" plays a prominent role).

They only blackball you because they suspect you of advantage play.

But that's why you don't bother to go anywhere but Vegas. The other locations are nothing but corporate penny pinching neophytes with no sense and narrow focus.

Not really...Central Credit (or NCC in some houses) often pulls EXP, or at least has in the past five to ten years.  There is also part of their process that scores average daily bank balance on the account(s) listed on the marker app.  Even smaller properties farm out to them, although Choctaw cannot get an approval done in a day right now.

I just pulled an old report from the era in which I really started using markers during my travels...Aria (MGM) was listed as Central Credit while The D used NCC.  One app with The D got me lines at all three of Derek's properties.

Aside from the hard pull, there is no reporting on the regular reports though...would guess that changes if one defaults, but credit reports would be the least of the concerns in that scenario since walking a marker is a felony.

Unless you are Rain Man there are very few advantage schemes to be had these days. Regardless of location most casinos as well as cruise lines will rate you on the amount and time you play; win or lose. Some Native American casinos have given me unbelievable comps I.e. Rooms, $1500 restaurant credit and that’s after I have won. Unfortunately I have very good knowledge about most casino worldwide.

And what will you do with those 16 points?

Get rich quick. 😂

On a more serious note, it's time to get that iPhone 14 Max Pro on monthly payments. Since my scores went up and Equifax has only 2 inquiries, I might try my luck with a new CC. Any advice on accounts? I was thinking USAA American Express and maybe State Dept. CU. I know USAA pulls EQ, does State do too?

I would get Care Credit.  They will help you pay your shrink.

Your FICO Score is never going to help you get more credit cards.  There are virtually zero credit card companies that use your FICO Score to decide whether or not to approve your application for revolving credit.  They all decide whether or not to approve you using the raw data on your credit reports, the information you provide on the application and any other data they have in their internal files on you.

Once an issuer has decided to approve your application, then your FICO Score comes into play.  It is generally used to set certain terms on your account such as APR and, in certain rare instances, credit limit.

Not much difference between a 12 and 14. However couldn’t resist when I had an old Samsung laying around ( worth MAYBE $100) and  Verizon was offering a $800 trade in value for it so I went for the Max. Of course for better or worse I’m stuck with Verizon for another 3 years. Nice phone but not a game changer.

Many years ago I got a sweetheart deal with Verizon and grandfathered in because of my wife’s profession.  Two lines $80  auto pay with unlimited everything and no throttling.

Now that's definitely a game changer. What a sweet deal you got yourself there.

For me at this stage, any iPhone would be a game changer. I know I sounded like a teenager when I mentioned the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but I can't tell you how frustrating it is when you are talking to a client and are trying to show them something on your phone, or pull up their account, and the thing takes 30 seconds to open the app. With how impatient people are nowadays, you can imagine. Many times I almost threw the thing against the wall.

This is amazing. If you don't have an iPhone or iPad, then your apple card will just sit there as an ornament on your credit file.

Unlikely.

If you don't have an iPhone or iPad or a Mac, you won't have an Apple ID.  I don't think you can even apply without an Apple ID.
