Very well.

I just got off the phone with what may be deemed the "reconsideration department" even though they told me there is no such thing. The rep put me on hold several times as she was looking into the application. She said she is sending it to be re-reviewed and they will let me know within 1-2 weeks. So we shall see........

Best of luck with the recon.

I would have waited til February, given my past experience of Chase being much nicer to deal with clean reports. That aside (and all of the last page or two of posts I clearly need to catch up on), the recon can hopefully still get you in the door and you can continue to progress with them in a few months as well.

If you only spoke with a customer service representative, you wasted your time.  If you spoke with underwriting, then you have a chance.

No offense, but some of your posts come across as the kid who has to have a new toy RIGHT NOW but who ignores some of the discussion surround said shiny new toy...yuo are coming across as someone jumping first and THEN reading the sign at the edge of the water,

Sorry to burst your bubble "Little- Ms. Know-It-All" but Chase just called me and.................APPROVED!!!!!! ONLY spoke to a CSR! You may want to go back and reread another 1,783 hours here on CB to brush up on your credit skills because this uninformed rookie just got it done.

Block away, Jethro.

You have a well-deserved reputation here, as clearly evident from your posts showing a myopic understanding about credit, as a moron.  Let's face it, even a regarded gerbil knows that virtually every issuer as a recon / backdoor number.

Your vocabulary is vast, obversations are grand, and intelligence, outstading. I should be so fortunate. 10.1k posts and counting?! You have ZERO life! Whoever, in their right mind would spend that much time on a forum speaks volumes.

You'll be getting the block and you, "Condescending-Pompous-Forum- Bully" with an insatiable need to belittle people. Keep doing so because it really encourages others to post here, brings value to the forum, and make people feel welcomed (NOT!).

There's no "one size fits all" with regard to any community forum.  It's quite possible that this forum doesn't have a slant and/or approach that suits you.  If that's the case, and you don't find much constructive input here, then I encourage you to exercise the "dump" option.   You wouldn't be the only person to prefer, say, the myfico.com forums over CB.

It's her delivery and arrogance I don't take kind to. Just contribute and be nice about it, already. Believe me, it's a turn off and many people here take notice. It makes people uncomfortable and surely discourages people from posting which devalues the forum. Not good. Is it really to much to ask?! Come on!

See how nice you respond? I guess it's hard for some because it strokes their ego.

Thanks bud. I got approved for 5k!!! I do agree with your advice that I would have been better to wait though. Nevertheless, back in with Chase! Thanks for being nice about your responses unlike others. @centex and @PotO please take notes.

What is rather ironic, Maverick, is that you claimed to have spoken to recon, which you seem to have missed was the very section where I conceded you MIGHT have had a chance.  You might want to go back and re-read what you had quoted from my earlier post...

The reality is that you ARE leaping before contemplating, and that is NOT going to behoove you in any manner of credit repair.  You want guidance and then, when it is given, you ignore much of it and go off half-cocked.

And if you think a failure to sugar coat is somehow a bad thing, then you are just part and parcel of the SAF generation.

congrats on the approval! what is the limit? also, don't forget to add to the CP database

$5k.  On one of Chase's most generous card offerings, $5k is akin to being on food stamps.

He's just a Neanderthal failure setting himself for yet another in what will be along string of failures.  Just sit back and enjoy watching yet another failure on the horizon.

Delivery @centex........delivery. Learn some people skills.

I highly recommend the book, How to Win Friends & Influence People. You'll get more bees with honey than vinegar and I'm SURE the forum owner and moderators would appreciate you being kind to people and not devaluing the forum which only discourages participation and growth.

I will re-read it and give you an apology if so. You and others have approached me as if I should know all these things that you vets know and that is just not fair. Please don't assume we know because we wouldnt be posting questions if so.

Jethro, you've been here since 2009 and still have the logic and pure credit skills of a third grader.  To make it fair, Granny should weld a dunce cap to your head so we know not to expect much from you.

The mistake is assuming someone couldn't stay in third grade for over a decade.  You've shown it is possible.

First, let me be clear:  I'm not a moderator of this group and, as such, I have no right to censor content.  That said, this thread has gone uncomfortably off the rails.

My take, in reviewing this thread, is that @maverick9 has received feedback that might have been merited had his presence been one of kicking and screaming, arguing against any info/advice extended.  Not the case.  Instead, he's largely been open to input and appreciative for anything constructive.

I've seen complete a*holes get a better reception here.  WTF!

I grasp your intent, but you're pretty much whistling into the wind on that one.  The key objective in responding to anyone's post here is to share valuable information and insight.  No one is looking to make a new friend (although that can happen incidentally).  And, for the most part, if a post fails to "influence", that gets an "well, I tried".

So, I just posted my dissatisfaction with the tone some feedback has taken.  But on the note of "winning friends", I'll suggest that a comment of "I've heard about xxxx" isn't the most attractive way to posture yourself.  (absolutely nothing good arises from a statement like that)

But, crap, none of us are perfect.  All we can do is "try for better".

I was being facetious a bit with the book. Only to teach a lesson that it's much better win people over vs berating them. They don't even have to win people over but what is with the condescending and bullying?!

I don't understand what their issues are that they think talking to people in the manner that they do is "okay".

Are the moderators not seeing this? I've reported @PotO once already and was told to block him but I'm a bit taken back that they think his behavior is permissable. Sad.

Again, I'll suggest that you do yourself a disservice by lumping two contributors into a single "basket" ...

FWIW, I don't think @centex's feedback has been egregious to any extent.  No one has a problem if you don't think her comments were on target (that's your prerogative).

Don't look for me to explain @PotO's manner of presence.  He's a long-time member and if you drill down to just his credit-related insights, I and others highly value his perspective.  As far as the "Insult Comic Dog" act, his critique is so exaggerated and inflamed that, while I don't find it particularly constructive, it's certainly "colorful".  I start rooting for him when someone happens along who IS particularly obnoxious and clueless (it happens).  (Perhaps he just needs to stay in best form for those occasions ;) .)

I will state that @centex wasn't that bad and do value her input. It's something about how she delivers it but it's not a big deal.

@PotO I wish I can pull the bully out of him but not optimistic that it's possible however, there is always hope.

Typical WLB.

You've been on CB since 2009 and simple concepts escape you.  Then, @centex points out salient facts, and you go WLB with accusations that she's a know-it-all.  If she made you look stupid, it isn't her fault.

As previously stated, it's often the dunces that accuse those with a particular expertise of being a know-it-all.  You've proven that point.

Lots of class @PotO. Way to be a fine example of a father to your kids as to how you've treated me like you have. You're such a great guy and I'd love to meet you in person if you'd be willing. Perhaps we can talk face to face. We might get along real well once you get know me. You up for it?
