centex
If you haven't taken delivery, you likely could walk on the deal. I have to say that seeing Gillman in this surprises me...mom dealt with them a few years back (presuming this is the one just north of 1960 near Cypresswood). I'm thinking that this afternoon should be spent in the office of the GM, ensuring they bring in the finance manager...and hope they do not have a copy of some form with you initialing that you understood each line item... It is in fact that dealership. Now let me also say that I was treated extremely well there by everyone. I went to pick up the vehicle today and have a bit of an update: I spoke with my salesman and showed him my concerns. He initially went and showed the finance manager and came back to explain that the glass warranty was included into the price of the vehicle and that's what is making that total higher than anticipated. I let him know that was extremely concerning to me and explained that both the glass warranty and extended warranty were presented to me in a manner that sounded like they were included and not being charged. I also explained that throughout the signing process I was never told the prices of these, and even the copy of the digital screen where he goes over the warranty is just him drawing and showing the glass warranty coverage. Again, no prices, just telling me what it is and then showing me where to sign. He went and talked to the finance manager again because the guy doing my deal was not in the office. He let me know that we could fill out some paperwork and cancel the warranties, it would just need to be done with the person who created the contract. I let him know that's a little frustrating that I need to come back again for it, but I needed to leave to make an appointment. So I'll be headed back tomorrow ASAP to sort it out. Just doing simple math on taking these two things off my monthly goes down about $72. That's huge while I'm trying to budget. @MarvBear, in the event that he tries to pull the "these warranties are what got you this APR from the bank" any advice on what to say to that? Also, thank you so much for your help today. I really appreciate your time and the confidence booth! hegemony
CubRunner
Lol they also just sent me the text message to rate my "overall buying experience." Think I might wait until tomorrow for that one.

ALL THREE of the product if they will not rewrite the loan should be cancelable. CubRunner

NONE of the used vehicles I looked at listed anything as additional other than the usual TT&L and doc fees. Unless you have a unicorn of a listing, they did not sell you the car as advertised on their website. At least when Northside (the FIAT/Alfa/Maserati dealership just past the Grand Parkway) baked stuff in, it was on the window sticker...suffice it to say, the first time I saw that, I walked from a prospective purchase when I was looking at getting a Spider. I suspect that if you mention both the Attorney General and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles as your next stop with the complaints, they will become far more accommodating. hegemony

CubRunner
So in my quick meeting with the finance guy yesterday he apologized for the confusion, then laid out what he did. He stated that adding the GAP, windshield, and extended warranty were all "levers" that he was pulling to get my APR down to 7.99%. He then showed me what my rate would look like without them, which would be 13.99% with another bank, because Cap1 wouldn't offer anything without those "assurances." even without all three of those and at 13.9%, my monthly is down $41. I had my daughter with me so I wasn't about to make a scene, but I feel like I'm being lied to big time. I don't understand how you calling a bank and saying "hey, if this guy has an extended warranty on the car can you bring his rate down to 7.99%?" I told him I would be back after the weekend to discuss it further, because I know I have thirty days to make a decision on the original loan. The guy was never offensive or rude, but I feel like this is a huge lie and a slap in the face, especially when I was extremely clear from the get go that my main concern was my monthly payment being as low as possible. And to top it off my F'ing check engine light came on this morning. I'm at a boiling point with these people. hegemony
centex
Depending on the check-engine issue, that could be a lever to unwind the deal entirely. Why did you have to go through CrapOne? As I recall, Chase actually underwrote Subaru financing, and I would have thought the certified pre-owned would ALSO run through them, especially with a vehicle that was still somewhat under warranty... It looks like the two banks, according to my credit reporting, were CAP1 and JPM. I'm really hoping its something minor with the check engine light. I can't afford to go without a vehicle, especially working in Houston. Edited April 15, 2022 by CubRunner

If I recall correctly, their used cars DO come with an implied 30-day warranty AND it may even still have factory warranty remaining. Further, I suspect they will put you into a loaner to keep you from making a scene in their lobby about their CPO throwing a code less than 24 hours after they effed you in a posterior orifice. centex
https://www.subaru.com/owners/vehicle-warranty/warranties-2018.html Pay attention to the 5/50 on powertrain, which is where your code likely returns to...

The car still has one year and about 11K miles on the original warranty. They better hope it's something extremely minor, because I am definitely in a mood to cause a scene. centex
https://www.subaru.com/vehicles/certified-pre-owned.html They hosed you with the extended warranty. CPO takes powertrain to 7/100 automatically. And power train is what MOST people look for the extended warranty to cover. I would ALSO be making a scene about THAT. Make sure they have given you the other things which are included in CPO. A call to the corporate offices to ensure the transfer of ownership has been noted could ALSO make things uncomfortable for Gillman.
