Did anyone get this strange email from PenFed talking about PenFed V2? The DH and I both got it. It is so plain looking that it looks like a scam. But the link does go directly to their webpage.

It looked like this:

Hi Rehabbing&Blabbing,

Welcome to members v2! To get started, go to https://home.penfed.org/v2

           Username:

XXXXXXXX@members.penfed.org

           Thanks,

If I'm not mistaken, then you're actually talking about PIA2 ...

I jumped on the email, set up a new user id (email) and was told I'm live and kicking.  Right.

Now, when I log in, the email address  won't take because the login field is too short.  Tried my old login and that works (but my Roboform fill is now screwed and I can't seem to reset it).

Everything takes twice as long to load.  And when the site loads, it's the existing interface.  (Yeah, in other words, looks like they got the transition script to work, but nothing else!)

There was an earlier invitation to activate PIA2 (!).  Dead in the water yesterday.

You know, I have CB to thank for this dimwitted membership.  Of course, like anything I encounter, I didn't get in when it was hot spit.  No, I waited until they began mass marketing to dolt like me by mail and then said to myself, "think I heard they're hot spit!  Let's jump on this!"

That's ok, CB more than amply compensated with the DCU endorsement (back about that time).  In our recently closed, relatively complicated mortgage balance combo/refi, I landed a processor at DCU who really knew her stuff.  As with any mortgage transaction, I had to stay really on top of things (if I'd been better at that, I might not have had to pay a lock extension ... but still made out when rates would have otherwise been 1/4% higher at close on a large jumbo).  But lags on our side were largely to blame.  Closer pretty much jumped to move things to each next step, and was an ally when our numbers were pushing our eligibility max.

I have DCU as well, but look at how they are handling the changes to their website. They are sending emails constantly with the details. This PenFed one came out of nowhere with no explanation. It was so bad, most of us thought it was a scam! I think PenFed needs to hire some better tech people considering the size of their institution.

As many of y’all know, I sued them a while back about inaccurate credit reporting. I won and settled the case with them as well as the debt I owed them. But if I call today, their system still says I owe them money. They just don’t have a good grasp on technology over there. And their online banking may be the most out of date one I have encountered. I can’t think of anyone else’s that is this bad. At least not any of my creditors/banks.

I would like to nominate UnionBank's credit card website for the honor.  Looks like they are still using some cutting-edge 1990's technology over there.

He appears to be on another "walkabout".  (His absences from CB have been surprisingly frequent in the last couple of months.)

He's missed, but I trust he's found something more fulfilling :)

He appears to be in yet another asylum.  (His absences from CB have been refreshingly frequent in the last couple of months.)

He's not missed; I trust he's found something more fulfilling like robbing banks.
