8ball
It seems pundits love to write articles about "This time being different". I always believed in a more variable withdrawal strategy. Feast when the harvest (returns) are good and tighten the belt in bad years. StarkRaven$ and hegemony
Burgerwars
So Social Security is going to zero (that's not being predicted), no other pensions, no other savings, etc. I get tired of reading articles like this. What do the writers think? People can't just start saving boatloads of money they don't have just because they wrote another doom-and-gloom article. And you're right: the goal of saving for retirement is not to be the richest person in the cemetery. cv91915
It's been six years since my dad retired and it's taken a lot of convincing, but I think 2022 will finally be the year he buys something frivolous just because he can (he wants a Viper ). IndyPoolPlayer
In this case, I'll last about a year and a half in retirement.
