Best Looking Credit Card?

I'm going to guess once they accept U.S. customers, they'll be using a U.S. bank with an online PIN for the chip.  In Europe, it's what the Europeans do.

I think even in Europe their card isn't chipped.

Wait a minute ... my mistake ...

I just saw on their website that the card does have a chip in it.

This could be interesting.

Received this today, it is very sharp looking.

(Yes, it's a sucky debit card.  Varo had an offer - deposit $25 and spend $25 and get a $25 SUB.  So I deposited $30, a couple of weeks ago and purchased a $29 Amazon gift card just now.  According to the fine print, I will receive my SUB in 10-14 days and I'll have $26.00 available to spend - which I will use to buy a $26 Amazon gift card 🙂  I kind of love Fintech sign up offers.)

Far out. Groovy man. I think I'm tripping out on the LSD by just looking at it.

It would be even cooler if it were blacklight reactive!

Unfortunately, Discover cards are strictly sock drawered in our household.  It's a shame ... other issuers' metal cards are so passe, by comparison.

You don't bust 'em out for the 5% stuff?  That's >99% of my Disco usage these days, at least when the category is useful (groceries right now so that was an easy win). :)

I wish I had saved cards from my past.  Two specifically, the Hooters card from Merrick Bank, just because, and WaMu used to have the "Democratic National Committee" card.  Nothing fancy, it just had the donkey logo, whenever I used it people asked if I was a Democratic Party Official, lol.

My current portfolio, sad to say they're all kind of lame, discounting the CrapOne card that let me pick my own image.  The prettiest stock image card is probably my NFCU Debit/ATM card, the red stands out in a sleek way the equally red Target REDcard does not.  Of course, it's debit, so it basically never gets used. :D

Also, RIP WaMu.  You were a lot easier to deal with than Chase and you gave me my first "real" CL. 😢

Nope.  The $1500 quarterly spend cap and changing categories are too much a nuisance.

We have 2 Amex Blue Cash Pref to keep us flush with 6% cb on grocery purchases.  2 US Bank Cash + to keep the 5% cb meter running on utilities and cell charges.  Chase Sapphire Reserve keeps the kettle going with 4.5% effective cb on dining/travel.  Amazon's covered with a Store Card.

About the only place where Discover cb could play a role would be with digital wallet purchases; but I'm a sufficient Luddite that I haven't picked up on the appeal of that play.  So, it's really only the occasional Disco bt that keeps my and DW cards running.

The primary appeal is ease of purchases on your device, at least for Apple Pay, I can't speak to Android/Samsung, but Apple Pay enabled sites make checkout a breeze.

A secondary appeal is backup payment method if you forget your wallet.

I rarely use Apple Pay myself but the bulk of my DD cards are registered there.  It has saved my bacon a few times when I've neglected my wallet and not realized it until at POS with blank look on my face. :D

Actually, nevermind, the Unlimited Cash Back card manages to look and feel like they were going for the cardboard fake credit card that is in some mailed credit card offers

I swear the chip looks like it's printed on

Especially the Platinum (purple one) and Unlimited Cash Back (black one)

It looks like you need an invite to apply. Years ago Ally had a credit card but sent everyone packing to TD Bank. I'm surprised they're starting a new credit card after getting rid of their accounts.
