I haven't seen this on CB before, forgive me if this is a repeat.

Out of boredom I went looking through the "Credits for Shopping" on the Cap 1 website.  5% here, 10% there, nothing very special at all.  Until I got to the square for MyFICO.  $50 statement credit for any MyFICO subscription!  I think I will subscribe to the Premier at $39 and cancel before the end of the first month

Here's a cut/paste of the T&C:

To earn credit, click the button above and complete your purchase using your Capital One credit card in the browser that opens. Purchases made through a merchant’s app will not qualify for the rebate.
Credits by Categories
Purchases of subscriptions - $50.00
3-Bureau Credit Report - $5.00
1-Bureau Credit Report - $2.50

Offer Details and Exclusions
Merchant details
To earn the rebate you must make an eligible purchase at myfico.com. Only available for new customers on their first subscription billing cycle. To earn the rebate, you must be a Capital One credit cardholder, logged in to your account on capitalone.com or the Capital One Mobile app, and pay for a qualifying purchase using an eligible Capital One credit card.

How to receive the rebate
You will receive your rebate as a statement credit to your Capital One credit card account within 3 billing cycles. In no event will a statement credit be applied to a Capital One checking or savings account. Your credit card account must be open and in good standing at the time the rebate is awarded to receive your statement credit. In the event you have more than one Capital One credit card, we may apply the statement credit to any active credit card account that is open and in good standing. This offer is valid for consumer, non-commercial use only.

What is a qualifying purchase?
To make a qualifying purchase, you must click the button above, and then complete a purchase at the selected merchant’s site, in the window opened by the Capital One Offers tile, within 24 hours, using your eligible Capital One credit card. Offer is not valid by any other method.

Use of other coupons, cash back, or promotional websites after selecting an offer and before making a purchase will invalidate your offer. Offer is not valid in-person or by telephone, and in-store pickup does not constitute a qualifying purchase. Purchases made without first being redirected by a Capital One Offers tile are not qualifying purchases.

How is the rebate calculated?
Rebate is calculated using the subtotal amount of your eligible purchase, which excludes taxes, shipping, credits, and other fees. A statement credit earned through this offer is in addition to any rewards regularly earned with your card. If you return or cancel an otherwise qualifying purchase, you are not eligible for a statement credit.

Read the complete Capital One Offers terms and conditions.

Wow that looks expensive for a year (39.95X12).  Wonder if they are really any better then Experian, Equifax or anyone else at the identity theft monitoring part? I feel like I freeze all my reports around the holidays anyway and already have monitoring through Equifax, and IDX so not sure how much this will add.

It isn't worth anywhere near that.  It's a novelty for a month or two.

I agree with this 100%.  It's not worth this price at all.  Especially when there are way so many was to get your reports for free and most people can get their FICO scores from their credit card companies.  American Express will give you a credit report even if you aren't a customer of theirs.

I'm dying to know what you ordered from HSN.  :)

I just got an email from Capital One that they recognized my purchase from myFICO and that I will get the credit within 3 billing cycles.  It sucks that it takes so long to receive the credit but I must say I like the fact that they emailed me recognizing the transaction.

I haven't used any of the Capital One offers yet, but Amex Offers have similar language and those credits normally post in a week or less.

If you think of it, would you mind reporting back how long it actually takes?  :)

Example from Amex:

Sure, I will post here once the credit posts to my account.

I've used a different Capital One offer four times (8/13, 8/27 [x2] and 9/7) and haven't gotten credited for any of them yet.

The terms do say that it may take 90 days, but I'm not going to try this again until at least the credit for the oldest transaction finally posts.

I'll keep watching and report back if I ever shake a nickel out of Capital One.

I used the Viator offer (15% back) on my QuickSilver again this week, and I'll report back when the credits post.

I made two purchases, but I'm only expecting one to track.

Longer version:

I made the first purchase by clicking through from Capital One, and that one should track.

When I tried a second purchase, the price I was getting was higher than I'd seen the day before (by ~$120 per person).  I don't think this was related to acting on the Capital One offer, as I could no longer replicate the price I had seen the day before on another device where I hadn't visited Capital One at all.

By some miracle I still had an open tab in a browser on that "other" device with the "old" price, and I was able to check out successfully.

I intentionally made the "rogue" purchase after the one that I knew should track, in case by some accident of the universe I'll end up being credited for both.
