I've heard of Dave Chevelle, but I wouldn't recognize him if I met him on the street, unless he showed some form of identification. 

 

Aside from that:

 

On Wednesday’s “Jeopardy!,” contestants easily answered trivia questions about comedians Kevin Hart (no idea who this is), Will Ferrell (I could ID him), Kenan Thompson (never heard of him/her), and Rebel Wilson (no idea who this is).

I can recognize Ronald McDonald, and I would be excited to get his autograph, but almost every other celebrity could walk right past me and I wouldn't recognize them.

I'm familiar with Dave Chappelle.  But, for some reason, every time he comes on the tube I don't recognize him.  I think the following has played out at least a dozen times:

 

Me:  Who TF that?

Bev:  Dave Chappelle <sigh>

Me.  Right!  Got it ...

Have definitely seen a lot of recent photos that showed him looking very different than when he was doing his show ~15 years ago...
