Yeah me too I'll get that quick 300 off the furniture and run 🤣

What pieces are you getting?

I need a chair for the living room, a dining room set, and some simple counter (bar) stools.

I basically emptied three rooms, with nothing picked out to fill it back up.  😛

EDIT:   And some end tables.  :swoon:

How often can you request a CLI from Disco?

They auto cli me when I pay off the card after a big balance. Only 2 times in the last 8 years but I'll live. I just did a balance transfer and will have it paid off before the end of the term so we'll see.

Did you already have a relationship with the CU. Did it show your preapprove rate before you applied?

Prospects for a further increase on my $29.8 Discover CL are bleak.  Last increase was $500 Jan '20.   Last response was:  Denied - insufficient use of credit line.

I put one or two charges on it each quarter.  No incentive to charge more.  I thought they'd toss me a $500 CLI bone after not having requested in 16 months; not the case.

No relationship with them at all before approval. You do have to become a member after approval. Yes, they show the CL and rate once pre-approved.

Wow! Once the inquiry hit my report almost immediately, I received notifications from Amex, Cap One, CK, Wallet.

These days you get notified instantaneously. It's pretty tough for any fraudster to getaway.

This is why I don't bother freezing, un-freezing, re-freezing, re-unfreezing and re-re-freezing my reports.

Haha...CV, you are cracking me up!

The way you describe it is indeed the case, troublesome and galling, but, to remind you who you are applying to? Is it Chase, Citi, or Cap One? Most folks would lock up two credit bureaus when applying to Chase and thaw Experian. This will not work on Cap One though, Cap One at least needs two.

FWIW. Cap One has 50% cash advances and Chase has a miserly tightwad of 5%.

SMH at Amex. Had a 55K BCE card. Was approved for Amex Bonvoy with 35K CL. Problem is, they took 20K of it from my BCE.

350K in total CL. Never late, no derogs and income is not an issue. Unsure if my new mortgage frightened them (70% equity).

Can someone explain? What am I not seeing. Over 100K CL with Chase...

When I do the Pre Approval it only shows 9.4 interest rate. It does not show a credit limit.

Who is the lender that you're referring to?

You recently requested a credit line increase for your Capital One Walmart Rewards Card account.

Unfortunately, your account isn't eligible right now. We know this isn't the answer you were hoping for and we want to help you understand why:·

  • Recent use of this account's existing credit line has been too low

Sincerely,

Capital One Customer Care Team

Approved for Chase Amazon Visa Signature (not Prime), $9300.

A few days ago, I had applied while checking out at Amazon.com.  They gave me the 30-day message.  At this point in my credit journey, I only want a new card if they really want me as a customer, so I made a conscious decision not to recon and just let it fail.  All of a sudden, today I got an e-mail stating I was approved with a CL of $5k.  When I logged in, it was actually $9.3k.

This is my second Chase card.  Total exposure:  $29300.

Didn't you have a BofA Amtrak Guest Rewards MC credit card?

I thought there were two Amtrak cards with the lower-tier with no annual fee.

Do you have two cards now?

Yes. I have both cards now. I did it for the SUB. Also for some perks. I did a write up of what the AF card gets you in my ongoing thread.

I like the blue Amtrak card. The annual fee is $79. I suspect that Bank of America will not allow me to exceed the $100,000 credit limit threshold.* Every time I log in, there are traditional legacy cards for me to choose from. At present, there are too many credit card offers and SUBs. I don't know who to apply for.

* I’ve seen screenshots of Bank of America providing its customers with up to $300,000 in excess of the threshold credit limit. However, ordinary Joes like us are not qualified.
