Yes the Vantage score is for entertainment value only, free feces, blah blah blah but if I were to receive a credit report alert from Chase that a new account opened on my report that I did not open, then it is useful. Forget the score, it is helpful to monitor changes to the actual EX report.

Your thread title could lead an impressionable newbie to the wrong conclusion.

And I should have said feckies.  Because it's funnier.

Do they have two different credit 'score' offerings for customers?  My Chase page calls it Credit Journey...still using TU to power the FAKO

I stand corrected, it's called Credit Journey. I got it mixed up with another cc fako Vantage score name. I only have a checking acct with Chase so not sure if it makes a difference but, in my case it was definitely an EX fako. I double checked and it showed an extra acct reporting that is ONLY on my EX cr.

Peculiar...now I will look at it on a daily basis to see when mine flips to EXP.  Getting tired of bouncing in the 810 to 820 range with the same lame excuses.  Not that I expect much change flipping to EXP...but the scenery would be different for a day or two LOL!

Hmmm. Or it's a red herring when it randomly drops 150 points and your FICO stays the same.

I think the real value of the Chase Credit Journey is that they offer solid pre-approvals for Chase cards. And who knows, maybe Chase is using Experian's Vantage score somewhere in their organization. They are pretty buddy buddy with Experian, who they pull for me every single time I have ever apped with them. Has anyone noticed that more and more lenders are shifting their credit pulls during the past few years to Experian instead of the other ones? This is especially true for the larger banks. (Citi, Wells, Chase, AmEx, Comenity, BBVA, and Synchrony pulls them for some of the more coveted cards they have. For me, this is extremely frustrating because that's the one report I have not yet been able to get fixed.

Have you moved recently?  In some cases where you are located determines which bureau a lender pulls... of course this is not a hard and fast rule, like most things credit related.

Still powered by TU according to my check of it this morning...

With regard to regional use, there are some in Texas that will see EX more frequently than any of the others.  However, it appears that other parts are split between the three.

Thanks for the info OP, I just logged into my Chase Credit Journey for the first time in months and was pleased to see the changes.  I only use FAKO's for monitoring changes..

And dang, will I be glad when that final late payment falls off my report in January 2021.

Still powered by TU with an update from last night...c'est la vie.

And STILL a TU powered score...no changes.

Maybe I should let something report so I am not at 3% overall util (since it seems to factor in the vehicle loan)...or apply for something to change the inquiry tally.

  • 4 weeks later...

Not sure which day it changed, but it was within the past week...but now being presented with an EXP score.

Difference of about 15 points between the last TU score and the first EXP score, with two inquiries set to fall off in the next month.

Interestingly enough...the two factors: too many inquiries and too few accounts opened recently.

Some of the inquiries are for things that will never report...but casino credit makes life a lot easier, especially in this day and age of banks making it difficult to get in the door to actually see a teller.
