TeachMeMaster
I have 3 accounts with Amex that all charged off. I received an offer for the Optima card on only one account. When I contacted Amexabout the offer they again acknowledged paying off in full the one account not the others to get the application for the Optima card. My question is for anyone that has experienced receiving this card, do you know of them to deny you the card if you still have multiple charge off cards with them? Especially if you’ve agreed to pay the only one account they are asking for?
winner
I'm in a similar situation, 5 charged off AmEx, received Optima offers on 2 cards and a full restore (including reactivation of lost points) on a Gold card. Read the fine print, it clearly states that you don't qualify if you still have delinquent AmEx account(s)
TeachMeMaster
That’s what I thought I read too. Even when speaking with them on several occasions specifically about it, they only speak of said account when referring to the Optima offer. They just repeat what the offer states and only care about closing the deal. I wonder since SOL is here in a few months to just do nothing. I wonder if they’ll ever let me back in w/ 3 CO acts with them?

SOL expiry will not extinguish their memory. Similarly, it will not extinguish the ability to enter into the OASIS agreement(s) with them. dvd and hegemony

Do I risk it and pay the one charge off for the Optima application (keeping in mind I will not get approved because I have the other 2 charge off acts which I wasn’t planning on paying)? Or Move on to another creditor? I don’t see trading upwards of $10k for $700 limit is worth it.

They had a default on one of my accounts and 1 month before the 4 year SOL expiration, they wrote me that they are dropping the judgement since they are cant legally collect (paraphrasing here). Less than a week later, the judgement was dropped from all 3 reports. They still call my google voice every other day thou. hegemony

What State only has a four-year window to collect on a judicially-ordered judgment? Especially since MOST jurisdictions allow for a renewal at least once... Or do you actually mean they abandoned the collection efforts prior to the expiry of the period in which litigation could successfully have been maintained? A judgment CANNOT issue until one has been sued AND a court entered the Order in favor of a Plaintiff...
TeachMeMaster
I received an email offer again and this time for only one of the accounts. I’m past SOL so this was a surprise. Basically it’s $1800 swap for an application in the mail for the Optima. I don’t see them approving it with the other 2 accounts not paid. Has anyone had a similar situation and/or experience? GFT
At the end of 2019 I received an Optima Card offer if I paid off my Platinum Card which went defunct in 2017. I agreed to the 12 month payment plan through 2020, which I completed successfully in December, 2020. As of today, I've not received any updates form AmEx regarding the application for the Optima card. Does anyone know how long after you pay off your account before you get the application ? Does it come via snail mail or online ? cv91915
GFT
UPDATE: Received my Optima Card application via USPS (Snail mail) today. Interesting enough I sent AmEx Global Collections an email asking about the application, and shortly after sending it; my mail arrived. I updated the email to them letting them I received the application and I'll be returning it today. Now to wait and see if I'm approved and how long to receive the Card. hegemony
GFT
Application mailed yesterday (1/11/21) from our main post office. I'll keep an eye on the Status Check page to see when approved and will update the forum members. My balance on my Platinum Card which was charged off was $5300; and the Optima limit offered is $1,500. hegemony

I’m curious that you received a $1500 credit whereas last year I received a $700 limit on each of my 3 accounts. But I know you can only get approved for one offer not multiple. interesting enough I received an email from them on 12/31 on one of my accounts again for an Optima card offer but there’s no mention of a limit. On the 5th I received another email offer for another account. And in the past several days I received multiple emails on both accounts basically rushing me by a timeline of the end of the month. Again it’s outside of SOL so it’s interesting that they are being aggressive at this point. I thought last year was it. I want to know has anyone has experienced this with multiple Amex account offers? Will one application get approved if one debt is paid and the other not? Keep in mind the 3rd account have yet to receive an offer. hegemony
GFT
Thank you for the congratulations. I will post an update once I get approval. I only had one account which went delinquent hence only one offer. From what I have learned the credit limit offered is some where around 30% of amount charged off and paid in full. When AmEx global collections made the offer they advised me I would be offered a 1500 limit. On the application I received it showed the same 1500 limit. Mine was not past SOL. It is my understanding you can only redeem one offer and have only one Optima card. I want to regain membership and my understanding this is the path. While I was paying I held a platinum corporate card via my employer which appears not to have created any issues. cv91915
GFT
No update on approval for Optima card. Mailed app on 1/11 from FL, with MLK holiday I would think it should arrive in Utah by weeks' end.

I almost want to send Global Collections an email asking point blank about being approved for one application of the three accounts if only one is paid and see what they say. GFT
Checked online application status this morning, no updates as of yet. My understanding is you can only have 1 Optima account, and all of your past due/charged off AmEx card accounts have to be paid in full Hopefully by weeks end, an approval will be received. GFT
Checked Online Application Status - No update, it shows SSN/Zip not found. Kind of concerning as it was sent back on 1/11 and now it is 1/25 (14 days) and the pre-approval is only valid through 2/4 which is rapidly approaching. Checked EX and EQ, no hard inquiries for Amex. Fingers remain crossed.

GFT
Just spent about 1 hour on the phone with AmEx new accounts and customer service.... They are telling me to wait a few more days, as they have not received the application. I called AmEx Global Collections and they told me to call new accounts. Customer service did confirm once they receive the application, the decision (approval) will be available on the online application status page. They could not advise me as to what happens if the application was lost in the mailing and not received by the offer expiration date of 2/4. cv91915

GFT
@DVD - Thank you for the guidance. Yes, I'm going to wait a few more days and check the online app status page as well as call if it does not appear. Yes, I copied the completed application and even the envelope in which I mailed the application to them.

Even some of my regular card accounts are showing messages on their website about mailed payments being delayed right now.

See if you can fax the copies. If they say no, ask for a supervisor. This has happened to alot of folks in the past,
