how much is a PNC bank credit card "point" worth?

I ask as it has a current SUB for 50,000 points on $750 spend for a non AF card.

 

too bad it is not nationwide

I have no idea what their points are worth. They told me to FOAD about two years ago. Too many inquiries was the excuse on paper.

You earn 4 points for every $1 in purchases (no bonus categories).  This suggests, at most, 50k in points is worth no more than $250.  (at $250, this would be a 2% card).

 

I'll speculate that 50k is worth more like $180 (yielding approx 1.5% return on purchases).

The sad part is that a lot of people won't do the homework to understand that math and think they are getting a 4% back card.
