Gym Membership collection

Recommended Posts

I have received two phone calls and two letters from a CA regarding a gym membership. I can pay the balance today, but who should I pay?

This is not reporting to the CRA's and I'm wanting to act quickly and efficiently.

Would it suit me best to pay ASF, the company that handles payments for the gym? Or Should I pay the CA?

Thanks for any advice on this

I mean that I don't know whether the gym or the CA owns the debt. I'm trying to prevent the account from reporting.

I guess you would have to call the gym to find out if they still hold the debt or if they sold it off. Not sure how big this outfit is; you may have to talk to someone in accounting.  Just call the front office and start asking for someone in charge of memberships or accounting. I think it's likely the gym still owns the debt and hired the CA to collect it for them.  In either case, if you are in a position to pay it off quickly you can probably prevent it being reported.
