WHYCHAT method

I received a letter from a CA today from TSI. It was for a bill that I completely forgot about for $81. As far as I know this has not been reported to any CRA. I have checked on credit karma, the experian app and identity IQ and nothing at all negative has been recently listed. I'm trying to figure out if I should just send them (TSI) the letter of dispute and the original creditor the letter with payment and skip the beginning steps. Because the letter i send them says to cease reporting and by the time they investigate it will be paid. Thanks in advance for your advice
