Regarding Goldman Sachs Apple Mastercard TransUnion Hard Inquiry...

Why is IDnotify part of Experian notifying me of new investigations new inquiry or credit lines or other matters at different credit bureaus such as TransUnion?

BTW- IDnotify (EX) was transferred by free credit monitoring Equifax.

Does anyone have a similar situation?

Question:  Their website says you can get virtual account numbers to make purchases from web sites, and so on, from their Wallet app.  Is there a static physical account number?  There must be, as you have a card but the number isn't on it.  How do you get that?  I ask, because once I get the card I might want to use another bank's bill pay to pay off the pencil I just bought.  You need to enter the account number to do that.  A virtual account number that might only be good for a day, just won't cut it.

I haven't posted on this site in a while but just got an email letting me know the Apple Card was ready for early applicants - I guess I was notified a few days after most of you!  I put in an inquiry (first inquiry in over a year) and was approved for $10k limit @ 12.99%.  Did not see my credit score populate during the application process, and have not been notified of a hard inquiry on any of the monitoring services I use (will post a response when I do) but I am assuming TU was pulled given that is what everyone else is stating.  Most recent TU Fico I have is from mid July and was 781 at the time.

Edited to add:  I also added this info to the TU Credit Pulls.

There's a "static" account number you can see in your Wallet, but you can change that number any time you want.  When you do, you'd better update your BillPay.  If you don't, I'm sure they can still determine where the money goes, but it might take them a while.  Kind of turdy to get a late payment over a pencil when they delay In posting the payment to your account.

For those who had the pre-approval, at what point were you given the pre-approval info (credit limit/APR info).  I got to the terms screen and don’t want to go farther and risk the INQ and new account right now (going through mortgage process).

Scroll down on that page and there will be a link to the PDF version.  That contains your credit limit and APR.

Guess I wasn’t pre-approved because all I got was the generic terms with an APR range.  Doesn’t bother me as I don’t want the card, was just curious.

I unlocked my TransUnion credit file and applied for the Apple Credit Card.  I was approved and the virtual card shows up in the Wallet on my iPhone.  I immediately locked my TransUnion Credit File.

No inquiry has shown up on TransUnion.  While perusing MyFico, someone mentioned that they read on Reddit, that the hard inquiry is delayed by a couple of hours so if you lock your TransUnion report immediately after approval, no Hard Inquiry is made.

Has anyone else that was approved done this and were there any issues after the fact?

I did notice a significant delay between approval and puling my TU.  Unfortunately, I did not lock it right away afterwards to test your theory.

Hope it works for you!

Just an update:  But the inquiry was place on my credit report approximately 90 minutes after applying (or at least that's when the flood of notifications came through from the credit monitoring services I use).

I subscribe to TransUnion credit morning.  I too, got a notification about two hours after I applied.  I didn't think to freeze in the interim.  My feeling is it wouldn't make a difference.  It's probably just a delay when things get posted and notified, and not a get-no-hard-inquiry pass.

This card will be last I apply for this year, so an extra TU inquiry will hardly make a difference in my life.
