BCU CREDIT UNION

Recommended Posts

This may be helpful to people who reside in Chicago north of 95th St. Or, an employee of one of the employers listed on their website. I got approved for membership with BCU CREDIT UNION. Checking and savings. Everything. They do shared branching as well. My Chexsystems report is frozen. I froze it myself. I’m not in TeleCheck. I’m not sure if I’m in EWS

Thank you for the post.  This may be an important lifeline for someone looking for a second chance banking opportunity. This is a vital service offered by Creditboards. I am still amazed by the number of emails I get from individuals** who cannot get a bank account, and are conducting their monthly business using money orders and prepaid cards.

**These are individuals from every sector. I helped a mechanical engineer recently who just finalized a divorce. He was getting financial counseling through his CPA, but still could not get a checking account due to Chexsystems and Early Warning. I referred him here to CB, and he was able to locate and get a local checking and savings.

I was able to open an account online. I applied on 6/27/19 and was approved on 07/01/19. My chexsystems is frozen as well. What I did to open it was I changed my Wells Fargo account address to my friends address in Grayslake IL and the Wells statement generated on Friday night and i uploaded the PDF to BCU and they accepted as for proof of eligibility  but kept my residence address as my mailing address. But yes everything worked fine.
