Cards with no HP for CLIs ?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

DW is going to do an app spree. Her objective is to get a few cards and rack up CLs in the next year or so. Her score is around 700 with one derog (a 30-day late payment in Feb 2018).

Which are the banks that don't do HPs for CLIs ?

Thanks

Main ones I'd look at for that goal would be AmEx and Discover.  Depends on her card goals, though.  I always recommend prioritizing goals over aiming for pure CLI brands.  If you're just looking for a CLI, for example, a store Synchrony might be better, but far less useful.

You wouldn't choose a Prius because it gets 54 mpg if you want something that's exhilarating to drive.

If maximizing limits is the objective, focus on cards that have the highest limit potential.

Please keep in mind, though, that bigger limits on useless cards do nothing for you long-term.

Exhibit A:  I have an $81,000 limit on Amex Hilton Ascend.  What am I supposed to do with that?  Shift the limit to my Amex Blue Sky?
