Any CUs or CCs I should apply for while living in California?

Hi, Everyone! I haven't posted in here a long time. I originally joined in 2008 when I was still a college student. I took the awesome advice here and easily bought a house by myself several years later.

My newest job has brought me out to California. I thought finally this would be a chance to apply for JCB, but I got here right when the card got phased out in the US. :(

Are there any other credit products or CUs exclusive to residents or employees of California that I should take advantage of while I'm here?

Not CA-specific, but if you were after 3% back with the JCB card, do an in-branch app for a Chase Freedom Unlimited (or wait until next month when you can app online).

You could also get a Discovery IT Fake Milez card, which pays 1.5 fake milez per dollar and then pays a 100% reward bonus at the end of the first year.

No airline accepts these fake milez but you can cash them out to a bank account or redeem them against previous purchases of anything from particle board to rhinoplasty.  Either option gets you one penny per fake mile.

Note that Discovery has slowly removed virtually every useful card benefit and is generally regarded as the worst issuer when it comes to cardholder protections.

Sounds like you've had your act together so I'm not sure why you'd want to deal with a credit union.

Golden1 has a CC that gives 3% cashback on groceries/gas/restaurants if you don't have something better for those categories.  It doesn;t have an annual fee.

Can you be more specific and/or direct me to this info. TIA
