1) This number when dialed reports that the number has been changed to 800-242-7399 and when called, they informed me that although someone may be in Ilinois, the Chase Executive Office has never been in Illinois which I can neither confirm nor deny.

2) When speaking to the executive offices I was transferred to 888-609-7805 which was identified as a credit analyst.  Executive offices were not able to identify what office/dept that-that number was for.  I googled.  That credit scoring company web-site came up and said that they were RECON.  I was told by EO that they were not RECON but that they were CSR.  When Maria answered the phone Chase Lending was stated.

There is no official office of reconsideration.  When the notions of reconsideration are discussed here, the concept is to get someone with actual decision-making capabilities.  With an entity like Chase, those are going to likely have the title of Analyst.

And, FWIW, Chase did, at one time somewhere in the past (if not now) have corporate offices in Chicago.

FWIW, I'm not surprised that the Chase Exec Office noted in that post is obsolete.  Looks like it was originally reported at the Consumerist website in 2008.  Chase has had A LOT of reorg since.

Not sure that was the best contact number for your issue.  You don't cite the specific reason for your call, but if your issue involved a desired recon on a credit decision, EO was not an appropriate contact to reach out to; EO is who you reach out to after you've spoken to the immediate support department without satisfaction.

For a card app or line increase request recon, the number cited in the post (Chase Personal CC Recon 888-270-2127) is still reportedly the best reach out recon contact.  There are web-based anecdotes as recently as Dec 2020 reporting satisfactory results.

btw, the CC recon number isn't a magic wand that will magically approve any request.  If you have past adverse credit history that was cited as a reason for denial, a recon rep is going to need firm convincing that the circumstances involved were a "once and done" scenario and that you're squeaky clean now in order to reverse the decline.  If you have any adverse credit reporting in the last 24 mo, that can prove to be a "tough row to hoe".  If you go into the call with a strong and direct strategy, it can be successful, but be prepared for push back.

Chase has had a lot of reorg?  Like the whole banking industry after 2007/2008?

I found out that there actually were reasons that there was such a low 7K approval as I was concerned about like my CO from 10+ years ago. Specifically, I found the analyst that the EO transfered me to-to be very effective in telling me why I got the limit that I did.  It's still a VISA Signature card!  (ain't that odd?). I wanted to know WHY and found out that I was lucky to get one from them at all. heheh - (whew)  Admittedly I didn't know where to call to find out the why of that limited approval, Jesus gave me the right number and thankfully transferred me correctly as well.  (No.  I'm not being religious. That was his the EO CSR's name).

To be clear, my magic wand remained concealed at all times and was not need (suprisingly) through this process.

Thanks for the clarification.

Heheh.  I was just repeating what Jesus the Chase EO CSR guy told me.  I have no idea where Jesus comes from.

Sorry if I seemed like I was a little wound up in my post ...

In a single day I was informed that I have a UTI, my PSA is through the roof, and I have to cancel out a Boston trip booked for Sunday because my COVID swab came back positive today (likely reflects a bizarre 3-day 102 deg fever I suffered 3+ weeks ago, along with subsequent G/I issues) ...

"When it rains, it ... simply sucks!!"

In any case, I'm very pleased for you that you got hold of someone who really was able to give you a sensible explanation for their credit decision.  Don't sweat the lowball CL ... if your credit is clean going forward, my experience is that Chase is very generous on the CLI request front.

btw, for 15 years I actively patronized a hotel in Atlantic City where the lead reception agent was named Moses.  I'd love to get your CSR together with him for S&G's :)

Thank you for the update.  The number has been removed.

It is not at all uncommon for employees to know nothing of the history of the employer...this is not unique to banks.

No apology needed fer nuttin. TYVM

However, I was overwhelmed about your health.  Can't imagine how you feel.  Good luck!

Thanks for the Chase Low-Ball/Generous comment.  That is a gold nugget to have in my brain.

"Moses and Jesus sitting in a bar", there's some money to be had with putting them two together. heheh

Just want to stress that so far everything's largely been of a "grin and bear it" nature (knock on wood!).  Actively engaged in trying to sort out where everything sits, bottom line.  By and large, I'm feeling tapped out by mid-afternoon, most days (I'm indulging in a 2 hour nap lately).  Getting back into a modest exercise regimen could address that, but the rapid onset has disturbed every aspect of my daily routine ...

Not unique?  Wow.  No kidding.  I think this trend of lazy workers started in Florida about the year 2000.  Just a thought from my perspecitive and yes, I can be wrong. I left the country of California and discovered an odd trend in Florida where employees and (self employed obviously) contractors and Sub-contractors didn't care about there responsibilities which was just the opposite of California.  2-3 months later I land back in California just to find that the Californians acting just like the Floridians... Now the trend seems to be the same across the country.  It's beyond me for sure.   (SMH)

Cap1: 800-548-4593 (application department; status)

  • This seems to just be a normal line, nothing special

Cap1: 800-625-7866 (Account Specialist)

  • This goes directly to an application specialist with no wait

Just used the 7866 number.  Just remember that the application specialist is NOT the same as the Account Specialist.  The account specialist wasnt able to get on the line OR they played the same game here.  Just CSRs, not folks who can actually do anything.

If someone will give me a second verification I will edit the original list.  Thank you all for your contributions.

The first number for BofA needs to be highlighted. These are the only ones that still go somewhere.
