Fifth Third Bank - No Longer Standing Up To Cancer - Closing MasterCards

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I was wondering why my Fifth Third Bank Stand Up To Cancer MasterCard all of a sudden stopped working.  I called them, and after being transferred all over the place and initially being given a wrong explanation about fraud, I was told they're discontinuing that credit card.  They are not offering any sort of product change.  On top of that, since I live in California, I cannot apply for any other credit card or bank account, since I live outside their marketing area.

I give a big fat zero to Fifth Third Bank customer service.  They gave no warning in shutting down these accounts.  In doesn't affect me much, as I have plenty of other cards to use, but it can inconvenience other customers based on their circumstances.  They claimed they "mailed out a letter" that I never received.

I have no plans on moving somewhere with Fifth Third branches, like Chicago, so I'm turning out the lights on Fifth Third.
