There ARE people who pay money for both elements...the RHD would be the selling point for many enthusiasts though. With a lot of vehicles, the dynamic exhausts can be turned off with the push of a button. I USED to have those on the F-Type before the enviro-ninnies demanded that they be programmed out. Sadly, I was not consulted before the system was flashed...the snap, crackle and pop will return once it is out of the warranty though, since that is when I look at chipped options. Unless, of course, the F-Type leaves to make way for the Lotus.
CTSoxFan
I had a 2016 S6 and it was one of the best cars I ever owned (leased). Especially after making a small modification to the software. Fast as all hell but super smooth. I would get another in a heartbeat. hegemony

Perhaps the S6 is a good compromise between an A6 and an RS5 Fartback. When I was in the market for a car last time I didn't even drive the A8 because I couldn't stomach the 206-square-foot grille (ditto the Lexus LS, but there were other reasons too). The S6 is right up there, but I suppose I could back it into the garage, which would eliminate > 90% of the visual encounters with the front of the vehicle. Intentional exhaust flatulence still has an edge, but few things shout "asshat" louder than black wheels, and some people pay extra for those too. I don't know if the dealer discount is realistic, but the RV, MF and incentives are in the ballpark. In three years I'd put on a total of maybe 10,000 miles. So roughly $3.25 per mile. 😛 For the same money OOP I could own a 2016 or 2017 A8 indefinitely (blessing or curse?). 4 MSDs bring the MF down to basically zero, so no point in adding more... CTSoxFan
I think you'll find the A8 and S6 to be two totally different cars/driving characteristics. The A8 will be much more like your 7 series. Given your super low mileage I would agree that buying a late model used/CPO is the better financial decision (assuming you can't write off lease payments), but what is the new car smell worth to you?? I'm sure they're quite different. My loins weren't really sweating for an Audi before I read about the trunk money on the A6, and then I started digging around for other options when I couldn't talk myself into one. 😐 I do want something smaller and more fun than the 750 for variety, but $3.25 a mile is hard to justify. I also briefly wanted a Z4 M40i (should lease in the 500s), but that thing farts too. You know how much I value subtlety. 😛
Bad Doctor Frost
Get the Audi. Just do it. You'll love it. I'd get one, but I just can't see myself in a car again that's not a manual sports car. Meanwhile, after my car had its 18-month service last week. While it was there, it had a recall performed. The fuel pump was replaced. Yesterday afternoon they called and said they installed the wrong fuel pump: mine is a 6-cylinder, and they installed the pump for a 4-cylinder. 17 months left with this thing and I'm going back to German. cv91915

Bad Doctor Frost
Keep in mind, if you like open sunroof driving, the A5/S5/RS5 won't be your car. The sunroof only vents up, it doesn't open up or slide back. Useless.

Bad Doctor Frost
17 months left with this lease. I'm starting to count down. ~7000 miles, the rear hatch has to be replaced. Under warranty of course, and they sent a $Texas Yeti cooler for my troubles. Two weeks ago, fuel pump recall. Last week, they told me they installed the wrong fuel pump. This morning it goes in for that, I asked them to check out a roaring noise that sounds like a failing wheel bearing. The tires are feathering, did I hit a pothole? No. The roughest thing this thing has seen is a gravel road to the lake. Otherwise, it hasn't been off pavement. It only has 18K miles, gets serviced every 6K miles, and has records of alleged tire rotations/inspections at each service....the last one being 250 miles ago saying everything is A-OK. I'm going back to Germans. At least with their quirks, you get some prestige. /end rant Edited July 14, 2020 by Bad Doctor Frost

I will not drive anything purple, or American...aside from a Lincoln Aviator maybe. They're probably junk too though. I'm thinking Audi Q7 or....maybe Lexus GX460 if I go Japanese. One dealer in Southern California I checked recently had 130+ 2019s in stock.
