When Should I Pay My CC Bill?

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

My statement period ends on the 20th of the month, the company reports to the bureaus on the 20th of the month, and my payments are due on the 17th of the month.

What date of the month should I actually pay my statement so as to achieve the max credit boost?

Thanks in advance ladies and gents!!

I noticed in another thread that you have five old COs reporting, and you are just starting out with your first two open revolvers.

The most important thing to do is to at this stage is to make 100% of your payments before the due date.  (This is actually the most important thing no matter what stage you are in.)

Since I am assuming that your limits are relatively low, you also want to take extra care to make sure that neither of your cards reports anywhere close to maxed out.

this might mean pushing payments prior to the statement closing. Most cards report your statement balance every month.
