Oliver Ripley, CEO of the high-end Habitas chain that has hotels in Malibu, Namibia, Bali, and Tulum, Mexico, was charged with grand larceny and petty larceny for allegedly “making a false claim” that $48,144.42 charged to his American Express card was fraudulent, leading to the company suffering a loss in that amount, according to the complaint.
