How would I begin trying to settle with law firm

Recommended Posts

Got a letter from a law firm indicating they were handling my credit debt. How would I begin asking for a lesser amount to settle? Should I call or write a letter? If so is there a template for this kind of thing?

Given that 1) settlement discussions are not admissions nor evidence and 2) you would be dealing with the attorney, you pick up the phone to call them, just as licensed counsel would do in such an instance.  You either come to terms or you don't...and if you don't, you should have some idea of whether you are likely TO come to terms.
