Another Discover benefit bites the dust!

The only time Discovery Deals worked for me was on a purchase that Discovery declined.  

 

I ended up getting frustrated after a couple of attempts and ultimately paid with another card, but Discovery gave me ~$30 back on the iPad purchase anyway.

 

The other handful of attempts got me nothing.

I use their offers occasionally if I can't find a better deal elsewhere. Right now they have, enjoy $6 off each off your first 2 rides when you pay with your Discover card not awe inspiring, but  it's something for people without other options. Maybe they will surprise with something new, but seeing the statement below I highly doubt it.

I used Discover Deals on a new Discover account recently to purchase an iphone from Apple.com.  It was a total of 6% on the front end and 6% on the back end.  On a $1450 purchase.  I've also cleaned house on some SamsClub.com orders in the last few months.  Same effective 12%.  Groupon purchases. Etc. 

 

Bummer.
