In the city of Detroit, when you look South across the Detroit River you are looking at Canada less than a mile away.

Of course Palin never said it but rather noted that there were places Russia was visible from Alaska.  Well duh? That is, of course, true and also not surprising given the geography.

 

Canada is also visible from Alaska, not just looking South from Detroit. But the latter is a fact that boggled my mind.

Still amazing how most of Europe is pretty far North. Even Venice, Italy is further North than Bangor, Maine.

That's why smart people like you and I visit Maine and most of Europe in the Summer, and then ride out the grueling SoCal winters at the beach

What is really gross is when it came time to sign the contract, the contractors wife asked if I was told there was a 7.5% fee for using a credit card. 

 

I said that I wasn't told that and I wasn't sure I wanted to proceed. She then said she would wave the fee.

 

This gutter bill will make short work of the 6k spend on the Hyatt card... on to the next SUB.
