These questions have been there in US Bank surveys for a while now.

 

If answering these questions alone makes you angry, imagine how you will feel if you have to develop applications like these. :-)

I've got no issue with surveys looking to identify demographics using the service, but it is beyond the pale when they put questions about about 'identifying as' and don't include options like fluffy bunny hamster.  

 

One does not IDENTIFY as a man or a woman...that is part and parcel of being MALE or FEMALE, which are SEX distinctions, NOT gender identities...   

 

The catering to delicate fee-fees has completely jumped the rails...

It's a survey.  Who gives a damn?  If you don't want to fill it out, then don't.  If you don't want to answer the question, then don't. 

 

I'm not sure why anyone would find it offensive.

It's a FINANCIAL / BANKING survey not a sexual orientation survey.

 

Their supposed to be questions from a financial institution about finances. That's why I found it offensive.

It's US Bank's survey, not Steelers1's survey.

 

If 5% of the population is LGBT and only 2% of their survey respondents are LGBT,  then they'll understand that through their marketing and/or operations they are somehow marginalizing that socioeconomic group.  Your local community college probably has a basic marketing or business course you can take.
