I included Citi in my Chap 7 three years ago and assume I must be blacklisted. I have Ex and TU on ice but have a clean EQ with a 798 Fico 8. On a whim decided to apply for the Citi AA figuring I have nothing to lose since I'll either be declined for frozen CR's and or blacklisted but maybe a EQ will be pulled and I can slip thru a crack. Received a pending notice and no CR was pulled. Three days after applying got an alert for a EQ inquiry and the app is still pending  I called and was told some docs were required to complete and a letter will be forthcoming.

Recieved the letter today with a 4056 T form. It is a little invasive but would be willing to submit IF I thought that my past history would not be an auto decline after all. Also a fresh pull may be needed. Any thought on my chances. Thx

So your EQ is not showing the BK? What was the Citi amount that was included in your BK

Couple of things to consider: Its a good sign that they ask for income verification or 4056T request. However, They could request to pull from the other two CR or they could approve you. Citi does AR and they will find out about your BK sooner or later and they could close your account.

EQ is clean and IIB for ~15K. If TU and EX was frozen and remains so BEFORE I applied Citi can AR?

woah!

so after reading this thread, it sounds like a thread I could have written.

- IIB'd Citi for mid 5 figures 2 years ago

- EQ clean, EX/TU on ice

so what the hell, I decided to app the DC since I could use a 2% CB card.

You've been approved for a Citi® Double Cash Card with an initial credit limit of $9,200.00.

I'm shocked, but I guess it seems like Citi doesn't have an internal BL?

they gave me an 18.24% interest rate, which appears to be their second tier as 15.24% is their lowest.

the only thing is that I really need a Visa for Costco and this one is another damn MC!!!!! lol....

we'll see if the account ends up getting closed at some point after manual review or an AR on another bureau. I won't poke the bear and request a CLI for at least a few months.

I've been buying Costco Cash cards from costco.com with my Aviator MC, and using the Cash cards for in-store Costco purchases.

I have one final EQD spending threshold to hit on this card, and then the Costco nonsense stops and the Aviator goes back into the drawer where it belongs until 1/1/19.

Your approval is encouraging so I’ll comply with Citi’s request and hopefully have the same success.

Thx for the replies.

Exactly as Konrad said, you have nothing to lose.  You already took the INQ, so might as well comply and see if you get the card.

I IIB Citi a long time back and now have almost 100K in CLs from them, so their BL is not as strong as say AmEx, but there are reports of people being declined for previous default.

perhaps citi's BL policy changed? it took me >10 years to clear it

Thank You Hege. It’s a small miracle considering I burned them for the same card. I feel there is a flaw in their UW rather than let bygones be bygones in regards to a forgiving attitude. Wouldn’t be shocked if the account was shut down after an AR.
