Local news media coverage this weekend was wall to wall....repeating the same stories over, and over, and over, and over. Tried everything they could to make it sound like CLT was going thru the apocalypse.

Disgusting.

Then the asshat reporters in the Myrtle Beach area were so desperate. Many were showing flooded areas that flood during a typical afternoon summer thunderstorm. To the viewers across the nation not familiar with the area, many thought the area was decimated.

West of Wilmington took it in the flowers though. That whole area is low level land,  surrounded by rivers and other waterways, and a lot of it is swamp land at that. Catastrophic flooding since recorded history.....but did the media bother to mention that? Nope. My prayers go out to the locals in those areas.

I have a cousin in Wilmington who decided to ride it out (and patrol his neighborhood for looters) while his wife and kids evacuated to ATL. He posted over the weekend that Wilmington was stranded as all roads in and out were now impassable. Last night his wife posted that cell service is out in most areas around Wilmington because apparently the cell tower batteries went dead and the ones with generators ran out of fuel with no way to get fuel to the towers.

Did he have any looters to play with?

Only good thing in MRE's is the Tabasco, idk if they even put that in those anymore.

MRE's are fine over a few days.  It's when you get them nonstop for a month that there's a problem.  And they're hard to eat on the go.

And come on... Jalapeño cheese spread,  peanut butter,  jelly,  pound cake, brownies, chocolate dairy drink, tootsie rolls.  All sorts of little treats.

First Strike rations are probably better, especially to eat on the move since thats what they were designed for.  But they aren't nearly as shelf stable.
