80s Hair Band Fans Rejoice

Steve Perry has a new solo album coming out, at almost 70.  I listened to the first single off of the album last night and it's so very reminiscent of his heyday and his voice is still awesome.  A little weaker, but still classic Steve Perry.

Metallica isn't what I would classify as a "hair band".  Metallica is what I would classify as "metal".  To me, there's a distinction.  Mostly based on me not being a huge fan of metal.  Hahaha.  But Journey, Poison, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Skid Row, etc - the ones whose songs also made the Top 40 lists, I loved them.  

 

Journey was also borderline "hair band", IMO, because they specialized so much in the ballad back in the Steve Perry era and had serious pop roots during that time.

All the bands who's videos were on MTV when I came home from school.  Don't forget Cinderella and Ratt.

 

I actually really liked the earlier Motley Crue albums.  But once songs like Smokin in the Boys Room came out they were spent.
