So we paid a hunk down on our credit cards and have been paitietly waiting for it to post to myfico.  It does, today and only shows a $40.00 balance change reported today with no fico change.

It should have been a balance change of almost 6K give or take a little.

I am  having DH call transunion as sugggested by Discover will they update or should that wrong amount be disputed (I say not) or have Discover do a mid cycle reporting???   6K makes a pretty good balance change.

Suggestions??   I had intentions of doing a balance transfer on the rest of his balance but 6 K will gve him another good score bump and lower utilization.   suggestions????

maybe 37-40%?  about 5700.  to get it below 50%.  well... he called and asked about the reported balance they told him they just report what discover tells them to he never asked to dispute just to check if it was a typo.   Called discover back and the guy said they would update it this evening to the correct balance.  We shall see in a couple days.

Typo?  No one from Discovery is keying your balances into the CRAs' reporting systems.

FYI - no one at Discovery is sitting at a typewriter creating your credit card statements from hard copies of the receipts you signed at each merchant either.

No kidding.....   Ya think?    but,  it was a nice way of saying hey, did you make a mistake without directly saying you jacked it up and squeezing a lemon people off.

the payment was made back on the 13 and statement was on the 19th.   I'm open to suggestions for a card.  We hardly ever travel so I doubt that points would do us much good.  I don't know much about point cards, I've just looked at the cash back ones.  His myfico EQ is showing 730, bank8@708, TU 681 Bank 8 @672 and EX 699 bank8@684 but they both need to update so should come up a bit.  He only has 2 cards dis 7400 of 14,500 and cap1 80.00 of 4K.

Mine are currently EQ695 w/ a bank8 at 681, TU692 w/ a bank8 at 690, EX687 w/ bank8 at 682.  These should update in the day or two for my discover and my amex should update to zero a few days after. I'm geussing will put me back to the low 700's.  I have discover w/ a $6678 out of 16,500, amex at 0 out of 8K, cap1 at 0 out of 2450 and a best buy city visa at 0 of 2K.

I feel like I messed up but I applied for a NFCU card at the first of August and go a whopping 1K limit.  I'm considering doing a recon letter??

suggestions on cards?

I didn't mean to sound like a hag in the post above, was at work fresh off the lovely phone with someone a few marbles shy of a full load so I apologize @cv91915

Your husband needs to add at least one more credit card.  Or three.  FICO gives you a score boost for three revolvers and five revolvers.  He also is being penalized for having balances report on both cards. In the FICO algorithm, he has balances on 100% of his credit cards which he gets penalized for.

Both you and your husband should be logging in to Discover every 15 days and requesting CLIs under the MANAGE tab.

Send NFCU a letter or call if it floats your boat.  Otherwise request a CLI after 3 statements cut.
