I have a First Premier Bank credit card, which is a total piece of junk. NFCU gave me an unsecured card with a $15,000 limit, but I can't get First Premier to increase my limit above $500. Plus, they charge an $8.25 monthly fee. If I am not planning to buy a house or car for at least two years, should I go ahead and close the account now so that I take the score hit and then bounce back up before I need to apply for anything?

Just ditch that POS...then shred it...then burn the shredder...then find a SuperFund site to toss the burned shredder so that you don't contaminate anything else that matters.

Get something else to replace First Porcelain since it won't be difficult to find something with better terms.  If you got $15K with NFCU, then you HAVE options.

Got it! Just wanted to double-check before I closed it.
