Paid off Student loan

I recently paid of a student loan. For some reason it is showing as closed. Is there different status it should have? It wasn't late and was paid off early.

As already noted, since the account is paid in full (zero balance), it should be reported as closed.

Umm...that reason would be that there is a zero balance and it is not an account that is open for use.  Closed is not a dirty word nor is it derogatory reporting. 

 

Congrats on not being a member of the victim generation that asserts student loans are such crushing animals that they cannot continue to function in society...

Congrats. I paid off my wife's student loan almost a year ago and "Closed with zero balance" is what she sees on her reports too. Don't stress over it.
