Is it? They made some solid points about how wrong the practice of requiring the add-ons is.

Who would accept an ultimatum like that?  
 
Never mind.
We've got a case with our firm now where the finance company made purchasing a service contract mandatory in order to get the loan . To make matters worse, the finance company owns the company that provides the service contract and that same company has repeatedly refused to honor the agreement (pay for repairs) based on all sorts bogus excuses.

A rational person would have declined a loan with unreasonable terms.

Nobody ever accused the "victim class" of being rational.
I agree guys. Education and rational thinking are the keys to stopping this nonsense. However, these practices are still deceptive. I see too many honest grandmothers and other well intentioned, honorable people who believe they are being told the truth, who are financially gutted during the automotive sales process.
