Moving with small CU auto loan

Recommended Posts

I got an auto loan through my dealer with a local credit union last year.  I have been offered a job in another state (Alaska) and was wondering if i am allowed to stay with my current loan even though I’m moving?

thank you

Well, I don't see why not.  I kept mine with MECU (A relatively small local CU) when I moved cross country.  Long as you aren't closing out your accounts (aka membership) and keep the address and such updated.

Always can ask them, too

You're obligated to repay the loan according to the terms of the note no matter where you live.  It's not a question of being allowed to keep the loan.  You're obligated.
