I'm confused as hell about something..  I get a link with a listing of places I can use my Pep Boys Care Care credit card and some of them are convenience stores like 7-11.  I am being told by the reps that this card is only for gas purchases and auto care, yet their website shows home and garden places, and more as options.  Do I need to apply for some other card or can this be used at all the places listed on their link?  The reps said they connected with Discover and now the card can be used places Discover is allowed.  If this is the case, I'm curious.  Thanks for the help if any of you have any experience with this

Some of those sorts of cards did have hidden benefits...the old Discount Tire was one like that where it could be used for ExxonMobil purchases (this was back when the Exxon card was a GE Capital product, although the benefit carried over even after Exxon changed to Shitibank).

The problem with THIS card is that it suggests you are using PepBoys to work on a vehicle.  Not sure which is worse...the decision to app the card or trusting them to do anything on a vehicle.  And yes, I generally hold the same low opinion of MOST chain outfits.  They get the dregs that were often so bad that, not only will a dealership not hire them, but the small independent outfits won't take them either.

I was told the card was coded to be used at locations that took Discover.  There must be more to this as they have 7-11 listed in 3 spots near me and claim they are under the "Auto parts/Repair" category, yet they are convenience stores

If it's coded to be used on the Discover network, it should work at the majority of retailers in the US.

7 Eleven actually codes as a service station, so there's no surprise it works there.

Are the home improvement centers Lowes?   Because Sync runs the Lowes CC product.
