I am wondering if there are any premium credit cards we can get approved for with Authorized User

only. Needing something with a higher limit. Credit score is a 735 with 1 hard inquiry, no bad accounts,

10% utilization, 3 years AAOA.

Welcome!

Discover loves thin files, also theres been reports that AMEX approved only auth accounts.

I would love to know what else would get approved too? What about CUs, would they approve a thin file with only auth?

I believe mendelssohn's DW got some nice prime cards with only having AU on her report, might have been another frequent contributor that I am thinking of though.

My 18 year old also got some nice lines with only AU on her report.

What do you consider a "higher limit"?

What is the limit of the card that you an AU? good luck

NeoEnzo, that's good information. I hear that Credit Unions on one hand are more lenient, but on the other hand

I hear that many ignore AU's. Not sure how much of that is true.

ronsetoe, thanks i'm curious as to what is mendelssohn's DW? Is that another account user?

Also what were the cl's with your 18 year old and which banks approved her?

There are 3 AU's listed:

1/ $10,300 limit

2/ $25,700 limit

3/ $19,000 limit

Was hoping to get a couple with $25,000 limits. Income= $120k

Seems unlikely that you'd be able to get your first two cards to match your highest AU limit. I think you need to have more reasonable expectations.

You can definitely get an account or two opened but the limits are probably going to be relatively small and you're going to need to build them up over time as you build your credit up over time.

My wife's first CC with a 6 month old SSN and only AU's reporting was a $20K AMEX revolver.

With a clean report, a registering FICO and $120K reported income, I think Chase will give you a $20K limit as well.

Her AUs I'm guessing had higher limits.

Not really. I think the highest limit personal revolver she had reporting was a $20K or $25K BofA. She wasn't an AU on my $50K Spark or the Lowes/Walmart cards. She also wasn't an AU on my big Costco AMEX since I wasn't sure if she was eligible - I gave my Dad the extra family slot on my Costco membership.

I don't remember her exact AMEX approval, but I think it was for $22K on an Old Blue Cash. Chase also gave her a $20K BA. Less than a year later CapOne gave her a big Venture which I had to $50K within 3 months.

If I were the OP I'd be starting with AMEX, Chase and Discover (because of Disco's soft pull repetitive CLI's). And NFCU or PenFed (PenFed again because of the soft pull CLI offers even though PenFed sucks).

Konrad2012-That's really good info, thank you. I am strongly considering the Amex Blue Cash now as a starting point. Was going to go with Chase first because of the 5/24 but may have to switch plans now. What do you mean when you say a registering FICO? Credit Karma says 735, does that count? What is an OP? Also, when your wife was approved was her income over

k? I understand if that infos personal.

Shifter-That's food for thought. Thank you for the info on NFCU, I hear they are pretty lenient. What is a UW?

I can recommend the opposite. I got romantically entangled with a dirty foreigner who already had perfect credit, and glommed on to that.

When I say a registering FICO, I mean that the AU cards are on the reports and have been for a couple of months. While credit karma is a fake score, they are looking at your credit reports so if they are showing your AUs, AAOA, utilization etc then those AU cards are obviously on the reports.
