Amex recon best practices

Recommended Posts

My gf has 3 Amex cards - PRG, ED, and BCE and an 815 FICO per Amex...she recently got a targeted mailer for a 60K mile SUB for a Delta Gold card (which she's had before), called and confirmed she was eligible for the the SUB, but her app was rejected.

My guess (?) is because a couple of months ago she missed one Amex payment and paid a few days late...just a dumb oversight on her part, and she didn't have Autopay turned on.

Any strategy for how to pursue a recon? Wait for the rejection letter and then - write? call? email? Whom?

TIA!

Probably not going to matter. She'll have to wait 6-12 months

OK, she received the rejection letter today - reason stated is "you have reached the maximum number and type of Cards that we will approve within the period of a few months."

Thoughts on how to proceed from here? Again, she currently has 3 cards and was responding to an offer sent to her for the Delta Gold (which she has had in the past.)

Call the number in the letter (1-866-929-5162) or write or ??
