Interesting..

I have 2 BOA cards: Plat Plus & Alaska

Plat Plus: No hard pull language (added a cool 10K to bring that card to $25,500)

This card was opened Feb 2017 with a $2500 CL.

I try on the Alaksa Airlines card and get the hard pull language.

Also I did a quick check to make sure they didn't just reallocate... Alaska is still at 15.4K

Congrats.

Thanks! :good: After the first approval, I was hoping for the 2fer.

Congratulations! Your credit line has been approved.
Your new total credit line is $15,000.00 with a cash credit line of $4,000.00 and is available for immediate use.

Use your available credit to transfer balances from other creditors online today.

Just went from $5K to the requested $15K. Not sure yet if it was a hard pull or not.

Current language on the Merrill+ card shows as follows:

Request a credit line increase

To request an increased line of credit, complete the form and click "Submit" button.

By clicking the "Submit" button, you authorize us to obtain a copy of your credit report and review your credit and employment histories and any other information that allows us to process your request, service your account and manage our relationship with you. Upon request, we will inform you of the name and address of any consumer reporting agency that provided reports to us.

You also understand that if you have existing credit card accounts with Bank of America, we may utilize the available credit on the existing account(s) to approve your new credit request which could include moving credit from an account with a lower annual percentage rate and/or fee structure to a higher annual rate and/or fee structure without increasing your overall credit limit.

Bank of America, like all financial institutions, is required by Federal law to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each customer making a credit request. When requesting a credit line increase from us we will ask you for your name, address and other information to confirm your identity.

Not sure if this is the same language as before since it was never an account that I had sought a line increase on...back in the days right after the MBNA acquisition, the credit card peeps were largely MBNA holdovers and they held the identity theft losses against me (MBNA held two of those accounts and the amount was roughly $40K of the grand total known losses).

The verbiage on the CLI page didn't change. Probably won't change just so they can CYA if they change their mind.

Also, on MF some are reporting the 7-10 message and then coming back and finding a CLI approval when they login later in the day.

*****Bookmark the link if you don't want to hunt for it or wait for it to pop up :).... I did this months ago and it brings me to the page when logged in whether or not they decide to post it on the account summary.

I'll just have to put them down to try again when the March CLI gets to 90 days to see just how far they'll go. They seem to be pretty good once you get the ball rolling considering some of the posts I've seen over the years.

I would like to get my cash rewards card to $20k.

Had mine for over 10 years now that started with 3K, then did a HP to get that to 8K a few years back and it is basically stuck there. I am still seeing the standard "By clicking the "Submit" button, you authorize us to obtain a copy of your credit report and review your credit and employment histories and any other information that allows us to process your request, service your account and manage our relationship with you. Upon request, we will inform you of the name and address of any consumer reporting agency that provided reports to us.." on the online credit increase form. So, it doesn't appear the soft pull is rolled out for all cards/accounts.

Some over at MF are reporting the same old HP language, but when hitting the luv button it's only a SP.

I just click for my lower of two BOA cards and got the "we'll reallocate credit from another account" schpiel.

Reminds me that I was overdue to request the next round...as always, should have asked for more.

The hard pull language was still there as of this morning. But no hard pull was made.

If you are unwilling to accept a meaningless inquiry you obviously don't need a CLI.

It is disingenuous to claim that hards are necessary meaningless. I've previously posted about the lender who gave, as their SOLE reason for closure, the existence of too many inquiries...never mind that the ONLY inquiry that existed was THEIRS from when the account was opened the previous month.

When I was four years old I "somehow" caught my wiener in a zipper, but I don't go through life terrorizing people about the hazards of clothing.

FTFY.

A little tidbit of info RE this. I got my 7-10 paper today and it had a fresh FICO of 811 on it which is higher than the previous month online one they hand out. Reason as expected though was "too many recent credit requests" aka didn't wait long enough. Still no HP showing from the request date but, interesting they actually SP on demand and provided the score.

Congrats BB, that is an awesome CL! Do you have any other BofA cards where you could re-allocate to hit $100K here?

DW got bumped to 30k on her TR without reallocation from her CR or other TR cards. Total exposure at present is 80k, that will go down after we close the CR and 2nd TR, before we apply for the cards all over again for the SUB...not much of a SUB but they are an easy churn and her platinum status also helps

Thanks, all. This is my sole remaining BOA card. At one time I had three (Amex closed by grantor during the downturn/'08-'09, Dodge Visa closed by me) so no others for combining.

I only asked for a 10k increase...I think I'll ask for 100k in six months...(I generally shy away from "large" CLI requests, especially with BOA).

After seeing the confirmed reports of SP's I bit the bullet.

BOA Cash Rewards +$10,300 --> $30K

Now I feel like I should have asked for more. Lol.

If you asked for 30 and got 30 then definitely should have asked for more. LOL! Congrats anyway though! NICE!

Always aim high when you're asking for a CLI. Amex is known to be 3X your current CL and I've played BOA roulette for 50K every time I hit the button knowing they will counter if it's too much. Went from 10K to 18.8K to 31.1K with both CLI's asking for 50K each time. Now that's it's a SP and I'm within 20K of 50K I'll step it up to 75K on the next request to leave room to counter since they have shown they will hit 100K with persistence,

It's kind of like spending time calling CS for Sync cards and only asking for 10K when you know they'll go way beyond to 25-35K or more on some of their cards.

I got a $9k cli today for a BOA card with a $21k limit taking me to $30k and they hp TU as normal. I have the link showing for another card with a $48,500 limit I have but theyve denied me twice for increases. I will run about $50k or more of BT through them a year and usually pay off in a month or so. Last request they offered to reallocate but I said no. Scores are all in 800s and a few hundred dollars reporting across about $900k in limits.

Asked for $60k on my other card and was granted it. Not sure if hp or not
