I went to the Alaska lounge at LAX... I had a glass of wine and then went back out into the terminal for some peace and quiet!  I found an empty gate and just sat down.  Yes, the lounge was a zoo.  At least I didn't pay for it!

I had a similar experience at the Centurion Lounge at DFW recently. 

By the time I found a place to sit I couldn't wait to leave. 

I ate and then left and took the train to my departure terminal, where I found the Admirals Club to be relatively peaceful.

Same issue with the Centurion Lounge in Seattle. The food and drink was great, but we could not relax.
