I would prefer a Goldman Sachs/Marcus/GS Bank card that's not co-branded with another company. I'm an Android, not an iSheep.

I just want the card to say Goldman Sachs. Most people don't know who or what Marcus is.

An Apple cobrand is nothing more than an attempt to sink their teeth into millennials. It kinda makes sense though. Student loan debt out the a$$, but hey my $1000 iPhone X and $15 avocado toast makes me cool and hip.

They're serving avocado toast in the mornings in Admirals Clubs now.

My first card, the Ring, I had to do a recon to get approved. I sat on the card for a couple months, then charged $5k for a furnace replacement. I had 18 months of 0% interest so I was planning on paying down the balance $300 a month over the term. Before I even made the second payment they AAd me and chased my balance. Mind you, utilization was about the same as when I appd, and the only other change were mortgage related inquiries. I called to recon the CLD, when they reversed and restored my original limit, and with no hard pull. The rep indicated the reason for the CLD was because the payments, which was only one at the time ($300) were too small proportional to the balance ($5000).

In response to that I paid off the furnace over the three months since so I had no balance when I applied for the Apple Rewards on Monday. I was approved for $2k, my lowest limit of all cards. I called to ask a higher limit but was denied due to excessive exposure ($7k total). Scores are currently in the 740s across the board and util is 4%.. The questions they asked were a bit on the strange side. I.e. what purchases will I be making, when, and even why. Just odd.

I've never had a problem with barclays. High limits, easy limit combos, etc. I only wished it issued rewards cards worth the time and trouble.

I think part of it is that they scare easily. The one thing I can say with certainty is they have some of the friendliest CSRs I have ever encountered at a bank.

IDK... I've added 800k in limits since my first barclaycard and all they've given me is higher limits and SUB.
