Hello All!

It has been a very long time since I posted on this site. I believe 2012 and I sort of forgot about this gem! Well I have one medical bill on my transunion and experian report. It is a valid account I just want it removed and I do not mind paying it to the original company. I read the entire process and I'm only confused about the beginning. I tried disputing it online with experian, got a letter yesterday that stated its valid. The transunion dispute is still in progress. I now realize disputing online is bad! But since I have already done it do I still need to do the first step of disputing it on the blue credit report dispute form from the link below? This is the only collection account I have and it would be great to get this removed! Any advice is helpful!

You need to start over;

What is the date of alleged medical service on this account??

Did you have insurance?? If so, do you have or can you obtain your EOMB ( explanation of medical benefits) from your insurance Co.?

When did you last dispute on line??

If it was fairly recent, then you will have to skip the initial dispute letter and go straight to the medical DV

and then the follow up dispute to the CRAs

If it has been more than 90 days since you disputed on line, you can start with the initial dispute letter( your original online dispute would have cleared out of the CRA computer system by then)

Thank you very much. My addressed have been updated for some time now and I opted out today.

Do I send two letters? One with the transunion account # and the other with the experian account #? Also I have some color paper do I use color paper and color pen?

You will be sending the medical DV-- NOT the initial dispute letter. The medical DV is NOT done on blue paper by hand, it is properly typed and "Court ready".

Yes, you will send 2 letters to the reporting CA, one for the TU account and one for the Ex account.( In the same envelope) It is POSSIBLE that since the TU dispute was recent that it may have been deleted already. Wait until you hear from TU before sending the medical DV to the CA for Experian.

An account from 2013 is most certainly a JDB ( junk debt buyer) and not a valid collection account.
