can modification remark be removed?

Recommended Posts

Several years ago we had our mortgage modified.

On both Experian and Equifax there is the comment: Loan modified under federal government plan

The modification happened in 2012, and as a result my last 30 day late payment on this loan was in 9/2012.

I'm curious if this comment is causing me any harm at all, and also curious if I can dispute it, or if it will ever be removed?

Thanks

Comments aren't factored into FICO scores. It might be noticed on manual review, but the 30 day late is the black mark.

Agreed with CV. Also, disputing it will simply be an exercise in typing skills and wasted time, as there is nothing in reality for you to dispute. As long as that loan exists, it's modified. As long as it's a modified loan, the creditor will report it as such and is required to under the servicing agreement with CDIA.
