Best way to get out of my 1/2 of a lease.

Recommended Posts

I need to go do something else pretty soon.

Looking for a solution to gracefully exit a lease. The other party can't carry it on but I can't carry them either.

I live in Norcal and houses rent out instantly so that's the good news.

Thanks

Excellent! California has the easiest laws in place for breaking leases. Landlords are required to actively search for tenants and are quite limited in their ability to require tenants to pay the remaining lease. So much so that many lawyers recommend that landlords avoid leases altogether and stick to month to month.

Check out Nolo Press for Calif. tenant friendly laws and how to navigate this.
