My highest limit to date..and almost 2x my highest limit prior. Makes me wonder if I didn't make a mistake. They give me 9x my first card, that I've barely used? PNC gave me 10x the card I barely used...maybe it's not a mistake?

On income, I added my commissions as extra income...but I put them in as a yearly, not monthly, as the commissions don't always line up every month. On average..probably about 7 checks a year. I wonder if the software understood what 14k/yr meant...

And...BOA Better Balance CLI from 10600 -> 17900, and LOL - my BOA Travel Visa from 7k to 7100. (+7400 between the two)

So, overall:

BOA Travel visa – increase to $7100

BOA better balance – increased to $17900 from 10,600

Add New Penfed 45k

Add New PNC – 10k

Add New NFCU – 18100

Overall - +80500, for over 200k available

A cli yesterday from NFCU from $14,700 to $22,000. I asked for $25,000 and it was not automatic as it went to review. Later in the day, I noticed that they had given me $22,000. There was no countering of my request for $25,000 as I had seen mentioned on here previously. I also had my EQ and TU reports locked so there was not a hard pull. From the best I can tell there was not even a soft pull on TU and I can't get in EQ to determine if they soft pulled there or not.

So to update this again. NFCU double pulled me for a CLI. They somehow pulled my locked Equifax and then also pulled my unlocked Experian. I was hoping not to get a single hard pull thus the locking of EQ and TU. Only to wind up with a double hard pull for a CLI.

"Locking" your reports has no effect on your existing creditors.

Most lenders these days can pull through a freeze if you have an established relationship with them.

This is neither an approval nor a denial.

I walked in to my local Chase to check for any offers. Since I already have Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Amazon, CSP, only CC offer available was for an United Miles CC. I didn’t take the offer because I use CSP for travel. I don’t meet the 5/24 rule. Wonder if I would have been approved if I took the offer.

Those used to always bypass 5/24, now it seems it usually does but often doesn't.

What was the sign up bonus on the offer?

Okay...an update: I opted to apply for an LOC with PenFed, since they seemed to treat me well enough with this latest approval. However, I think I have to call them and give this card limit back to them. On the LOC app, everything was pre-filled out for me; easy enough. But those commissions that I had entered by the year - their software thought that 14k was per month. I wish! I thought this limit was some kind of mistake.

Right now, it's an innocent mistake - I suppose it's partially my fault, and partially their software, as I did type in 14k/yr as extra income. (emphasis on /yr) So, the question is, do I call them and let them know their software goofed? It's not like I need a 45k limit. I'd never come close to using it. (I hope not - it would take years to pay that off at my current salary)

The ethical thing is to call them and let them know, and let the chips fall where they may. This is my plan - but I figured I'd check in with the forum - maybe there's some logic and sound reasoning behind keeping my mouth shut, aside from having a limit that's twice as high as my next highest.

Congrats Ukaserex. Unless I'm missing something, it sounds like you're personally uncomfortable with PFs process of granting you a 45K limit card. If you believe you have the personal fiscal discipline, and aren't tempted to abuse the line and run things up to create a baddie, I'd suggest letting it sit. The risk is that you may create more uncertainty with them and their UWs by reopening the matter. Your Dis and NCFU are both >20K. Your scores indicate that you're a low repayment risk (what the scores are intended to measure and predict). If all that's true on your financial behavior, I'd let it stand. But it's a matter of your personal credo. Good luck

I've found Sync difficult to deal with to date on my Amazon store card ($3K CL) and PayPal MC ($10K CL). Per the advice of many of you on CB, I called CS today and got a 3K -> 5K CKI on Amazon. Will go back at them on PP next mo after I pay off a $2500 spend month with them...figured I'd have a more sympathetic response with a 0 balance.

Many thanks to the pros here on CB. Appreciate your wisdom, and willingness to share it. Wish I had known about CB 10 years ago. Total card portfolio was <10K, now 200K.

Recently got approved for a more rewards Amex for $25k for the lowest apr of 10.9%. Pulled TU which is ~660. Only existing card is a $1600 limit citi card I an AU on. I realize navy fed is pretty easy going but I wasn’t expecting that. I do have a few negatives I’m working on getting removed from my reports. I’m hoping in 4-5 months to pick up a solid 2nd card from somewhere.

IDK what NFCU sees that the other banks don't but I was just approved for the co-branded AMEX, 25k at 11.15. This makes a total of 64K with them (24K GoRewards and 15K LOC).

Was feeling pretty good so I apped US BANK (have been a customer almost 14 years) and they gave me a Visa sig with CL of 11k but the rate is 15.74 plus prime (ouch). Ironically, in December they wouldn't increase the limit on my platinum card that I've had since 2008. My TU report is much cleaner now than it was at that time. After my new approval I called UW and requested an increase on my current card using the same pull. They will let me know tomorrow??
